The Conjuring. It's rated R, but not because it has an R rated level of gore, violence, sex or cursing. In fact, it has almost none of these things. All the scares pretty much come from building suspense, but the MPAA literally said that despite this the film is so scary they didn't feel they could give it anything less than an R. They were right; it wasn't offensive, but man, was it scary!!
