Last days...

I'm curious to see other people's opinions:

One of my favorite subjects is prophecy and more specifically the last days. Look at what's going on now, France-Muslim youths being discriminated causing violence, Lebanon on the verge of civil war, the peace treaty that only God knows how long will last (probably not too long) Iraq, Iran and N. Vietnam nuclear bomb tests, African civil wars, these are only a few of the things happening right now and these are just wars/rumors of war. Check out the website Former Things, they have some interesting material due to prophecies and artifacts linking to biblical stories. I just want to see other people's input

I certainly believe we are in the Last Days---and quickly moving toward the End Times. Prophetic events seem to be coming to pass at breakneck speed, but I have found that few Christians really want to discuss it. We must not allow fear or apathy to overcome us: we must instead be motivated to spead the Gospel like never before! Time is indeed short!!

I just posted in "End Times?" thread. My percpective can be viewed there. But in a nutshell, these end times have to with spiritual confilcts today. God is testing "christians"(I Peter 4:17) today to "determine" if they are trusting him and his word or are they following false gospel and teachings of men. Ask yourself this, has my church changed its teachings in the last 50 years? If I were a betting man I would say I bet they have. Just compare the explosion of divorce rates, pre-marital sex, the approval of homosexuality, abortion, saved by works gospels and interest in dreams, visions, signs and wonders. Is the church the pillar and ground of truth or is it God?

I agree with FireQuest, we must spread the gospel so a great multitude will be saved (Rev 7).

As much as I agree with you and love the end times topic, I'm seeing far too much focus on it within these boards. Notice how when you scroll through the General Theology and Christian Current Affairs, all you see is "End Times," "Prophecy Fulfilled" and the like. Too much focus and too much study causes nothing but people reading between lines that aren' t even there.

I would like to comment one thing I noticved today. 2 Peter says the earth will be cleansed by flame. According to my forensics class, nuclear energy can be used to start fires. Considering the proliferaton of nuclear weapons today, and the instability of some countries that have them.... See where this isging? Of course it may not be the psychotic North Korean we need to worry about, but the insane fundamentalist that built the bomb in his garage. Hes the most dangerous, because he can slip under the radar better. All in all, we just need to be prepared in any case.

We've been in the last days now for close to 2000 years since it was infallibally written into scripture that we were in the last days.

Everyone wants to use some disaster near them or read something in the news paper and proclaim it's proof the end of the world is coming soon.

The end might come at any time, but the signs have been long completed.

Except as far as I can tell for a couple. One that Jesus is going to come at a time when he is not expected. Well, you can't swing a dead cat around without hitting some guy proclaiming Jesus is going to be here before your tax refund.

And, we are told that God is patient so that everyone who will be saved will be saved. There are still lots of people believing for the first time and being saved. I believe God will wait until that just isn't happening anymore.

I would suggest you end your fascination with end times discussions, they aren't very useful, indeed they get in the way of the great commission. Figure out what God wants you to do as a member of his body and get to work.

Well, I always pray. That there isn't an issue. The lord said watch and pray as though he were coming at any given time not study until you're freaked out about what is, what isn't what might be and what will never happen.

we should realy not think so negative, the antichrist haven't come jet, there will also more "warnings" from GOD like famine, fire and destruction to try to get menkind back to GOD.
