I don't need glasses yet, but I might consider it if or when I do. My sister's husband wore thick, heavy, lenses for decades before getting Lasik. He's happy with the results, and almost looks like a different person.

What impact does it have on the natural deterioration of your eyesight with age? I already said that the cost pretty much rules it out for me, but even if I had the cash I do wonder whether it would really be worth it to have a few years without glasses only to end up needing them once again.
