I use my laptop and a kvm to make use of my desktop monitor.
Spreading programs and output/forms across two monitors comes
in real handy. LapTop overheating is not a problem if you will keep
the vent opening clear and periodically disassemble and clean the
fan and heat sink. Just be sure if there is thermal putty between
the sink and cpu, to ball the putty up under the foil so it spreads
evenly between the sink and cpu when you reseat it.
I was thinking what I think would be an ideal programmer's laptop.
That prompted a websearch and brought me to this topic and forum.
Anyways, my ideal laptop would have 3 displays that unfolde side by
side and a standard keyboard that did the same. There would also
be a slide out mouse table for a standard size mouse. This would make
it thicker and heavier that normal laptops, but programmers do not
typically carry their laptops around alot like other business professionals
who are on the move all day; usually just from home to work.
Desktop comfort, wide display spanned across 3 panels and laptop
portablity... *Pauses to daydream a bit* hmmm kind of alongshot,
but
