  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Cool...there are other language nuts out there like me. English is my first language. After that I took Spanish for 5 years in high school & a year of German at university. I'd love to study more German & maybe learn some Japanese, Hebrew or Greek, and maybe some French. Maybe I should switch to a languages major? Dunno what I'd do with it though...but it'd be a lot of fun.

I speak English and know enough to get by with French. I'd love to keep up with it (I took French all through jr high and high school) but I probably won't have enough room in my schedual in college. My goal is to be involved in a study abroad program in France though. :)

Rock on, fishtix! Computer languages! Does that mean that HTML counts as a language... 'cause it should!

I know English. I studied Spanish for two years in high school, but the teacher severely disliked us all. (not kidding!!!) Needless to say, I don't remember much of it at all. I really enjoyed learning the language though.

My friend taught me a couple words in Japanese, and another friend taught me a little German. I'm from a Czech-based town, so I hear the older people use that every once in awhile.

Do weird languages like Pig-Latin count? Because if so, I know like three or four of those kind. :D

I speak a little (three years in high school) spanish. Fluent in English. Speak some german, asl, french, and a few others.

I once had to teach a mammology course to a guy who spoke no english. It was bad. How do you teach someone to take track imprints when he dosen't speak your language! Luckily one of his buddies was fairly fluent in both so he translated. Praise God!

I'm fluent in english and chinese mandarin, and I'm just starting to learn japanese. Took spanish for a year but dropped it while I was still in high school... I guess I regret doing that, but I don't think it would've helped much for me to continue it at the school I was at since the spanish dept. was so crappy :)

I took French for two years and think it is a romantic language but I have a friend that speaks six languages fluently. English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, and Italian.
