Lack of interest in evangelism

It is rather disappointing that hardly anyone comes to this forum. I think it's a sad thing. I can't be the only one who feels this way, can I?

Surely there are some threads that could have been placed in this one. There are so many forums and depending on how anyone writes about whatever, it could be placed almost anywhere.

What could you contribute to this particular forum?

I already have a thread of evangelism videos in this forum. I have an evangelism group, based on the biblically methods taught by "The Way of the Master."

Unfortunately, that is true. The commandment of 'Go and make disciples of all nations,' has been diminished to nothing more than a suggestion in these last days.

I thought I had already posted in this thread. Turns out, after reading through I hadn't. Anyway, I attended a local homeless gospel mission the other night. Good singing and good evangelical preaching. They're still out there spreading the good news and more importantly God is still saving. Just stick to your particular callings and ministries and wait..

Hi There

I do agree with you that there is a lack of evangelical out reach in the church. Personally, I have felt the calling of God on my life since I was in my early teens. I desire greatly to work with youths and families and as such I am now doing graduate studies in this area.

One of the challenge I find is waiting for the Lord to give me specific instructions. I feel as though I am in a preparation process and in anxious to fulfill my God given purpose.

Dear Alive4Evermore. Yes, I share your feeling, there is a lack of interest in evangelism. Maybe if we tried a way to Live evangelism? Would you believe this might be of more interest? The 10 Commandments, which God gave us, are rolled into the 2 Commandments, which Jesus gave us. 1) Love God with all our hearts, all our souls, and all our minds. 2) Love your neighbour, (all others) as we love ourselves. Ore more easily put, " treat others, as we would like to be treated by others." LOVE is the miracle, God is Love and Love is the key to Heaven. When you asked the 10 Commandments, " have you ever lied? have you ever etc, etc?" If we have love for all, would we do these? No and No again. It is not easy to live up to, Alive4Evermore, but we have been given years to learn, we also have a God who forgives us every time we fall short and ask for forgiveness, we also have a Saviour, who rconciled us to God, who is waiting for us to Repent, to exchange our selfish and unloving character, into loving God, and loving our fellow-beings. Jesus is waiting to help us and to guide us all the way, He is the Way. I believe our LOVE could awaken great interest, especially since we would find that Love brings forth Love, and we would soon find the evidence of this. Unless we try, we will never know. I don't put the burden on myself to "save" the world. Christ already came that He might save the world.


Based on that verse alone I don't believe in street preaching, etc. At least here in the States, of course in villages out of the country who have no one needs missionaries, but as far as those who aren't called as missionaries and live in a country that has Christ written everywhere...

My life is my witness, its the best one I have. I can talk and say all the good things I want to, but if my life isn't behind the witness of my mouth then I might as well have said nothing, been better actually!

Those around my life are effected and those who don't know, will eventually ask. That's when I answer... from there its specific scenarios.

What more is there to say?

If we want to know how to be a better witness for Christ we should look into how our life reflects Christ...

Then I invite you to visit my blog and my group to learn why I use biblical evangelism rather than what has been previously mentioned. I preach repentance because God has "appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness." God demands perfect righteousness that is of His perfect Law (Psalm 19:7; Romans 2:12; James 2:12). The only way we can have that righteousness is through Christ. Sinners then need to be warned of the wrath of God that is set against them.

Be encouraged. I think the people with a heart for missions or evangelism may be busy in the mission field. Our church has a team in Guatemala at an orphanage and one in China, smuggling Bibles. I know other churches and groups are doing the same. The Lord is at work using his people to fulfill his commission.

You should worry about yourself before trying to help others.

I'm having enough trouble as it is trying to become Christian myself; what could I possibly teach someone else about Christianity when I'm sucking at it myself?

I'm sure many share my sentiments.
