You can't go wrong with either one of them, Have you consider a German Sheperd? I've had one a few years ago, it ws the best dog I've ever had.

Labs are great dogs, especially with kids and other animals. They are very smart and easy to train, atleast mine was, but they are hyper. Not at the level of a boxer, but my dog had the energy of a puppy up until the day she died. My dog never even liked being inside, so I don't know if it would be the best dog for what you are looking for.27D4 said:We are considering getting a large dog, my wife wants a lab and I want a rotweiler. We want a laid back, easy going dog that will get along with our two little dogs (pekinese, shi tzu). Our new dog will be mainly a house dog, with a few hours a day in the yard. Our activity level is not high: walks around the neighborhood, park. I would appreciate any input/suggestions from lab/rotweiler owners.
