  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

KOTOR 3 (probably spoilers)

If this thread has been run into the ground, someone give me a link and I'll check it out.

What do you guys want in KOTOR 3? I've read some good lists, but here's what I really care about:

-actually tie up all the loose ends
-when you start a game, have it actually ask what happened with Revan and Exile, not just asking questions in conversation
-Coruscant. I think that goes without saying
-Have a different plot/ending for the different scenarios, with Revan, Exile, and new main character, respectively - light, light light; light, light, dark; light, dark, light; light, dark, dark; dark, light, light; dark, light, dark; dark, dark, light; dark, dark, dark - it's not like the gaming industry isn't advanced enough

There's other stuff that would be nice, but those are what I really want to see.

I hope they don't put out another one. The fact that they rushed KOTOR II so much that they had to cut out huge parts of the storyline just made the game feel horribly unfinished. If you're not gonna do it right, don't do it at all.

There are wav files all over the web of the audio from the parts that were cut and they were all great and would have added an immense amount of depth to the characters. It's shameful the way they left everything hanging.

More faces
Make a story as good or better as KOTOR, KOTOR II had pretty week story.
You don't stand still doing nothing for up to 5 seconds during battles (box is fast enough to calc ahead I'm sure)
More sidequests like in the first one.
More interaction between character in company like first one.
All in all keep the cool powers etc. of the second and the brilliant story of first and throw an updated gfx engine over it.

Redo the bloody particles so every gas grenade doesn't turn my system into a locked box.
More/better story. Enough with the bloody amnesiacs! It's getting stupid. I'm not buying KOTOR 3 if your character can't start out remembering every major event in their life.
More/better sidequests. Some of the planets were massively rushed, you can tell they only got to do one "right."
Cut down the number of characters, increase the number of interactions. Seriously, the way the game works you don't want that many characters. G0T0, disciple/handmaiden, and at least one other character (Mandalore was pretty pointless) could have gotten the boot.
Either make sure it's not getting stupid, or set it before Raven/Malak and the entire mess. I think a prequel is in order... definately not something I would hate to see.

Are you guys joking about the plot issues? Tell me you're not so ignorant to the Star Wars universe that you expect the second installment of a trilogy to be the strongest? Think about what would happen if they ended with Empire Strikes Back!

I thought it was obvious that the plot was going to be weak. I didn't like the amount of loose ends they left, but it just leaves more potential for the completion of the trilogy. G0T0 was obviouisly put in to contribute towards the plot of the third. I thought Breanna was an excellent part of the game, but I didn't like how they just played her off at the end. I can't believe that you think Canderous was pointless. What more major player can there be than the new leader of the Mandalorians?

I could see them making a prequel trilogy, but they wouldn't just leave the plot where it's at.

My one MAJOR disappointment with KOTOR 2: there wasn't anything you could do if you predicted Kreia to be evil right from the beginning. My roommate told me I was full of **** (we played through it at the same time), but there wasn't anything I could do to accuse her of being evil. *sigh*

No I mean that HK's entire storyline about going to the droid factory to stop other HK's from being made was cut out....Atton's death was cut out....Mira's redemption was cut out. Bao Dur's self sacrifice was cut out. You never found out what happened to the remote droid and the interrogation droid. All these things were cut out because they wanted the game out before Christmas.

I know, the HK one was just painful. You get an entire little story about how he wants to shutdown the inferior droids, how he cannot attack them and they cannot attack him, how you can use the vocabulator to backtrack them and... nothing! THEY DON'T ATTACK YOU! That's it for the HKs. No battle, no backstory, nothing! It leaves him easily the most unfinished character in the game.

Also Mandalore was pointless, because they did nothing with him. Sure his EXISTANCE means a lot, but there's no plot to him being in your party. "Oh yeah sure, time to join up because I feel like it. It's not like I'm rebuilding the Mandalorian Empire from scratch here or something." Sorry, but I like my PCs to have reasons to joining up (anything from Dur's flimsy "I was bored and I really liked you" to Atton's "You rescued me and I have nothing better to do" is fine, but Mandalore had good reasons NOT to join you, and no real reasons to).

All in all the story of KOTOR II was pretty week, I did find the story to KOTOR I brilliant.

*BIG SPOILER COMING NOW FROM KOTOR I*

If you had guesed you were Revan from start of KOTOR I it would have been a lot less fun but I had no clue until Malek told me so that was cool :)

Here's my beef with KOTOR II.

I don't know if it was just me... but everytime I boarded the Ebon Hawk, the game suddenly became all glitchy.

I was disappointed at the end... but as Gonzo said, it was a bit typical of usual Star Wars trilogies. I saw G0T0 corner the remote on Malachor V inside of the Republic ship and I thought there was gonna be some kinda drama... and then nothing. And somehow, I doubt they're gonna pick up on the remainder of this story in KOTOR III.

I never got to use HK-47. By the time I got his chassis, I was so near the end of the game, I was just using characters that I was most comfortable with. In fact, I never used ANY of my droids unless I was forced to.

And what about Mira and Hanharr? Are they really going to continue these stories in KOTOR III? How did Bal-Dur die? Kreia showed me the "future" before she croaked, but it was all so unexciting.

The game was going just fine for me until the end. I seriously thought that there was more that I'd have to do after killing Kreia. Then I see the closing credits and I'm like, "No Way!!".

I even reloaded a game before fighting Kreia and tried to give more "dark side" responses to see if it would change anything. Nope! Does the game even have an alternate ending?

***!! Canderous was Mandalore??? How did I miss that? Boy do I feel stupid.
If you don't kill Darth Treya immediately she'll tell you some cool things about the futures of some of your group. She reveals that Mandalore was Canderous.

P.S. Some of these things are distinctly different. Bao-Dur did not die for me, although G0-T0 owned his remote (I also assume G0-T0 permitted the redestruction of Malachor V, although it wasn't explicitly shown).

The little droid was actually an awsome fighter. His vitality was stupid-high, and his infinite use shield made him nearly invulnerable to blaster fire. He was my primary choice for any protracted blaster battle.

Also - did anyone else think force storm was just a bit too good? Most of the final level was just me seeing 5-6 sith and force storming twice. I took down all of the bad guys with force storm, and the triad of lightsabers.

I was listening to her future ramblings, but sometimes I get tired of reading and I just keep pressing the "A" button until I see something interesting. So I guess I missed it.

Is it worth me playing the game a second time as a dark side character? Will the ending be different? I want to play as a female so I can see what this "Disciple" dude has to offer.
