Korn alternative?

I use to like Korn but since I began to follow Christ I prefer Christian songs. Any Kornish bands out there? Looking for really good beats.

Well, there are certainly bands who have the "angst" or "hostile" sound to them, but I'm not sure you'll find something that compares to the hatred/confrontational/doom lyrics. At a minimum, the lyrics will be less gloomy and depressive (which is a good thing).

You might find these bands close to that sound (in some respects anyway), though I wouldn't consider this a comprehensive list at all (just some of the more popular ones off the top of my head). And I wouldn't listen to just one song, usually need to hear an entire album to get a good feel for the sound on some of these bands:

Demon Hunter - check out The Triptych
Project 86 - check out Rival Fractions or And The Rest Will Follow
East West - check out The Light In Guinevere's Garden
Red - check out End of Silence
Still Remains - check out Of Love and Lunacy


If you're into a Limp Bizkit type sound (which some Korn fans seem to be), I'd consider Thousand Foot Krutch - check out either Phenomenon or Set It Off.

Hey,

Got another one for ya. The band's name is Execution22. You can checkout their site at www.execution22.com. They have a video on there as well for you to checkout their sound (they have a pretty similar Korn sound to them as well - without the depression and suicidal suggestions).

I don't think you'll be disappointed with these guys, but so far I think they only have one album out. Hopefully more to come!

Brian "head" Welch left the band because he became a christian and now he is making music that sounds a lot like KoRn, but with christian lyrics!

No. There is no band that sounds like Korn that's Christian, Korn's sound is Korn's sound. If you like Korn's sound, then don't accept second best. If you're not going to like Korn because of your religion, then that really is your loss.

That's usually true of good bands. It don't like saying "This band is a Christian version of that band."
But every band has a sound that falls into a general range of sound similar to others.

I think the best way for someone to find "Christian" music that fits one's taste is by listening to stations that play Christian music.

No loss to me, son. I loathe their lyrics and message. There was a time in my life when I loved them but I grew up.
