My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me.”

Hosea 4:6a

Knowledge is not distinguishing good from bad;

knowledge is distinguishing good from the best.

True, knowledge is just stored information. Sometimes what Mick Jagger referred to as useless information. More of the right knowledge facilitates greater chance of desired outcome. Wisdom is the correct application of knowledge.
That is one of my many favorite scriptures.

5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.

8 The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ran across this.

The fear of the Lord truly is the beginning of knowledge...

Without the sure foundation of God's existence there is nothing to build any sort of knowledge on. One must assume numerous things about reality and trust that they are simply because that's how they must be for any knowledge to proceed. Only by first apprehending God can we then have a certain foundation on which to base the fundamental leaps that are necessary to have any confidence that what we know is true.

Amen. This verse comes to mind:

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." --Pr 9:10

Satan himself has "knowledge", the kind that is "rotting" as wd speak, for he is as a "dead man walking", and he knows it, thus the raging and going about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. He HATES God and those who love God, and therefore is on a "spree" to take as many with him as he can. He is hastening his own self-demise. In that regard he is quite the fool. Anc ax it is written he will be on display in all his defeat for all the world to see, and the entire world will marvel at how that pathetic, crumpled up defeated creature could have ever brought entire nations down.

"Knowledge" is not always "wise", is it? As a matter of fact, it can be downright self-destructive, and lead right to our own demise.

Tragic.

i agree with "wisdom", yet there is no wisdom without the "fear of the Lord". The fear of thd Lord is possible only whdn we bow our stubborn wills to God, and acknowledge Him for Who He is, and take our place as "created" and bow before Him as Creator, thus "fearing Him". That is humbleness, and its twin, wisdom, and both are inexplicably attached to the fear of the Lord, for neither are possible without the "fear of the Lord".

Only the truly humble can be "wise", and only the wise understand and embrace the "fear of the Lord" and delight in it.

There's a book that elaborates on how the fear of the Lord and joy are inexplicably woven together. The title of it is "The Joy of Fearing God." written by Jerry Bridges
