AMEN! It really erks me when secular artists do this. It's like, if they are (like Usher) singing about unGodly type stuff, or have vulgarness to their act, etc...then they are better off leaving things like "thanking his Lord and saviour Jesus Christ" out of it.....PastorSherm said:but take Usher for example at the American Music Awards he kept thanking his Lord and savior Jesus Christ...well then he really needs to start acting like it then in his videos, interviews, and personal life. It makes me question weither he's being sincere or ever since The Passion it seems like thats the "cool" thing to say.
Usher is a Christian. Sure he may not sing love songs to God, but if you compare his lyrics with others, he's sing about a lost love or first love, meanwhile the rest are sing about sex and one night stands. If you ask me Usher is a cut about the rest.PastorSherm said:but take Usher for example at the American Music Awards he kept thanking his Lord and savior Jesus Christ...well then he really needs to start acting like it then in his videos, interviews, and personal life. So just because he doesn't talk about as gritty of subject matter as fellow "musicians" do, he belives that Jesus Christ is the Risen Lord as well as dedicating his life to glorify Jesus Christ.JC 101 FM said:Usher is a Christian. Mentioning God in interviews has become a fad amongst celebrities (as well as having faith in multiple religions at the same time), and shouldn't be taken on face value.PastorSherm said:but take Usher for example at the American Music Awards he kept thanking his Lord and savior Jesus Christ...well then he really needs to start acting like it then in his videos, interviews, and personal life. Switchfoot is still a Christian band, they just switched to a non-Christian label. The logic is that by switching labels, they will be able to reach non-Christians better. I think it is a smart move for bands that consider what they do as outreach.
