Yes I would I think different translations work for different types of study. And it is wrong and legalistic for a church to mandate any translation as the only right one. I personally use ESV for deep Bible study and the NIV for personal reading. A church has no right to tell me I can't do that and it's wrong.

I could care less if people read the KJV go for it if that is what works for you. But when you go into saying it is the only right Bible and everything else is wrong that is where I have a problem. I can't read the KJV the old english speaking is really hard for me to understand. Telling me I am wrong for not reading something I can't understand is ridiculous. The only thing that matters is people are getting scripture and understanding it to grow closer to God. If it's a Christian Bible with scripture that is all I care about.

I agree with you on the KJ only being legalistic, after all what do people in non English speaking countries use?

It comes naturally for me to understand the old English, since that is what I was raised with.

I have heard commentaries on the verses in KJ being easier to memorize.

I notice you use different versions as well, that is a good idea to compare verses because intent and contextual pairing are important.

Wasn't this following his leading an armed revolt against the state to make his faith the state religion?

No the hussite war was after they burned him at the stake.

He was murdered for continuing the work of Wycliffe, and was considered to be one of the first reformers.

There actually are quite a lot of Baptist churches in the USA that profess the KJV to be the only acceptable translation. The comment you make about countries who don't speak english brings to mind my precise argument against this concept.
I find this a strange contradiction.

If any group is going to be AV only (aka KJV), it should be Anglicans in the UK, not Baptists in America! The AV is the official Anglican translation, authorised by a King who persecuted non-Anglicans - including Baptists. The earliest Baptists used the Geneva Bible, which King James I wanted to be banished. He succeeded, eventually.

If any group is going to be anti-KJV, it should be American Baptists.

I presume that the AV was close enough to the Geneva Bible that Baptists (and other non-Conformists) gradually accepted it, and they probably had other, bigger, issues to content with (like religious freedom).
