I'd like to get away from the 'thees' and 'thous'

Which version keeps closest to the correct interpretation?

I agree that NKJV is real good at solving that problem.

So also is NASB 1955 -

But I recommend that you always compare those two whenever a question arises because if one of them happens to make a mistake the other one corrects it.

The words thee, thou, thine, and thy are very important to the Bible as their use avoids confusion.

Most people want to get rid of these out of the Bibles and the modern versions have.

It adds great confusion to the Scriptures by getting rid of these words. Why?

The Hebrew and the Greek languages have singular and plural words for the word YOU.
  • In our English language today, we don’t use singular and plural forms of YOU.
  • If I ask, “Do you hear me?” Am I talking to all of you, or just one of you? Do YOU see this?
  • YOU, as we use it today, is both singular and plural.
  • Hebrew is the original language used for the Old Testament.
  • Greek is the original language used for the New Testament.
In both Hebrew and Greek, they have singular and plural forms of YOU. We don’t.

Now ... that being said I am a proponent of comparing translations and beyond that using the Greek and Hebrew lexicons.

We live in a wonderful time in history where we can easily do this. Here is one

Not sure which year this one is but look carefully...

Matthew 17:20-22
New American Standard Bible

20 And He *said to them, “Because of your meager faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

22 And while they were gathering together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be handed over to men;

Matthew 17:20-22
King James Version

20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

22 And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:
