Kirk Cameron not Welcomed in Libraries

Kirk Cameron? Oh man... that name takes me back... to the old school atheist YouTube days.

What did he write a children's book? 'The Littlest Croco-duck'. A croco-duck who is shorter than the rest of the litter but has the spunk and heart to shine just as bright as the other ones.

After finding a more neutral article (though still not ideal), I can see what the libraries refused Kirk for story hour. From the message originally sent to the library, "We would love to schedule a story hour for Mr. Cameron's book where we read As You Grow and speak to families about following the wisdom of the Bible, as well as discussing the harmful effects of woke ideologies, specifically CRT and the transgender agenda."

I suspect that almost any author asking for that type of time, having a political discussion along with reading their book, would be denied -- regardless if they represented far left or far right views. I suspect, if he would have just offered to read his book (with no political discussion), the library likely would have accepted. And, just to be clear, everything I've heard about drag queens reading books at libraries, all the ones I've heard of merely read stories, they didn't have any type of political discussion but just read a book.

Here in Michigan we just defund the library if they have a book or two that offends us.

Actual CRT goes beyond just teaching a less whitewashed version of history.

Very few schools (apart from colleges) are teaching actual CRT as it would be considered an advanced subject. However, the left may have shot themselves in the foot by opting to try to defend CRT (because that's what the right was calling it) instead of the better approach of saying "that's not CRT"

It reminds me of the "socialism" arguments.

The right falsely calls something "socialism", and rather than explaining why "that's not socialism", some on the left, instead, opt to try to defend "socialism".
