and every group has failed though God still choses to save some
FthHpLv said:There are verses in the New Testament that say 'the kingdom of God is come near' or 'the kingdom of God is within you' and 'there be some standing here which shall not taste of death till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom'. I get confused when I read these verses and hear people teach of a future kingdom. Any replies welcome.![]()
FthHpLv said:What about when people say Jesus will sit on David's throne [during the millennium, I guess]? Acts 2:29-33 says:
"...let me speak freely of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up Christ to sit on his throne, he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ...This Jesus God has raised up...Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God...". And 1 Cor. 15:20-25 says, "But now Christ is risen from the dead...Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet."
So, right now He is reigning and there is a kingdom. Agree or disagree?
exodus19 said:now hearing these quotes from psalms we know that David has another time in which he too is promised the Kingdom but was told to sit at the right hand of God until God directed him to act on His behalf.,
That is what is implied to be at someones right hand and ready.
which verses say that?

craig_on_fire said:The Kingdom of God/Heaven is best understood as the KINGSHIP, or sovereign and saving rule of Israel's God YHWH.
"Jesus announcing the Kingdom of God is actually saying that YHWH is finally going to become King in the way he intended . His call for people to 'enter' the Kingdom was a way of calling his hearers to an allegiance to himself and his programmer, seen as the start of God's long-awaited saving reign.
The Kingdom was coming in stages, and just a singular moment. His public minstry, death and resurrection and then the future appearance were and are all stages to this."
When Jesus says that the Kingdom/Kingship is near, he is stating that God will soon be crowned King. When/where does this coronation happen? It happens on a Friday morning on a blood-splattered cross between two vigilantes/criminals with a sign posted above his head as a mockery, but ironically stating the truth.
No doubt some of Jesus hearers to this message would have watched him die, watched God's saving act and crowning glory come to pass with the death of a young prophet from Nazareth who turned the 1st Century palestinian world upside down by his subvervise teaching and radical Kingdom movement that saw him decide that in fact he was the one whom God had chosen to become King.
FthHpLv said:Thank you Craig. Can you please answer my other question? It's about Jesus being on David's throne. Do you believe this will be literal, later on in the future? The verse I quoted in Acts 2 (says God had sworn with an oath to him [David] that of the fruit of his body He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, he, forseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ). What do you think?
exodus19 said:" i come like a thief in the night"

this is correct and relevent to understand.Rafael said:There is the spiritual kingdom where we are already with Jesus hidden in Him at the right hand of the Father (Col.3), and then there is the physical kingdom that has yet to be manifested; where the Saints rule and reign with Jesus for a 1000 years (Rev. 20:6). Yes there will be a new heavens and earth, spiritual and physical, as there will always be the physical manifestation of God in Jesus where we can enjoy fellowship with Him in our new bodies, called mansions in comparison to the temporary tents we now inhabit for bodies. These physical "mansions" that we finally inhabit are fit for eternity. If we were only going to be spiritual beings, there would be need for the physical body or the physical earth, I would suppose, but God did not mention just a new heavens, but also a new earth. God uses the physical and it obviously pleases Him to do so, as we see so much beauty in the physical world He has created.
exodus19 said:REALLY GOD'S PLAN FOR PEACE.
THAT IS THE ROADMAP TO HELL , HELL , AND HELL ONLY.
ACCORDING TO THE TEXT.
.
that's not so, there is no peace in the spirit unless you know what is the Holy Spirit 's desire. since their are no leaders who propperly advocate fro God's will then there is no peace in the spirit, but only hope or patience with faith.A Brother In Christ said:luke 12:51 suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, No but rather division.
peace comes after Christ takes out all unbelievers ... till that day
we can have peace in the spirit

oh ok, thanks jeff,jeffweeder said:hello ex 19.
I thought that was a very good post. I felt i could understand you a bit better that time. It is a frustrating thing when one is misunderstood ,and i think it happens a lot on this forum. May God get the glory in the end , and may the Holy Spirit be giyen room to breathe.
