I think the sentence is ridiculous and should be overturned on appeal. The officer was well within her rights to shoot the suspect, even if she had intended to taser him, he had an outstanding warrant and was endangering human lives.

I was thinking of the officer that was trying to restrain the suspect. He could have been killed if the suspect had driven away.
