I only heard about him like a year ago and haven't studied him as close as you have. Perhaps it's just wishful thinking but I'm praying he's right too.Oh trust me, I hope he's right! I've been reading Clements prophecies since '01, and early on I believed him, but as of late I've begun taking them with a grain of salt.

I didn't put the "clock" there, Clement did by saying there was a four year window starting in 2005 for this prophecy to be fulfilled.
I know, I understand what you're saying. My point was only that its difficult to see how a word will come to pass.
If this is true how can you judge whether a prophet is of God or not? The words of God's prophets should not be veiled like the Old Testement.
Seems to me (and please correct me if I am wrong) that you are giving license to anyone that says vague things about anything. There needs to be a way to judge properly or we are open to danger.However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
But as it is written:
"Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him."
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For "who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:6-16

Although I don't necessarily agree that only Prophets can judge (I think that is what you inferred) you make a great point. Wow, what started out as a bash thread is turning edifying! What is happening to my P/C forum!!!!Good point. I think that's the reason for 1 Corinthians 14:29...Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.
When the Spirit says the same thing through two or three witnesses, it can be established And when the other prophets hear what the Spirit is saying, they can see the prophet who may be missing it, too...And that doesn't even include our own spiritual discernment.

I don't believe that there are prophets. I believe people can move in the gift of prophecy. So I'd have to say no.
O' TO BE A PROPHET
Whenever I have been through a severely difficult period and hurtful things have been said about me, and especially after I have fulfilled a difficult mission at God's instruction, there is the tendency for me to want to hide away. I'm sure many of you are familiar with that feeling. Prophets, especially, feel abused and targeted when words are spoken from high and powerful religious forces that are motivated by hatred, politics and jealousy. There have been moments where I felt I was alone and without Him, but somehow each time, I was able to pull myself to Him with the most wonderful gift afforded by Heaven - praise. Praise to God is the most unselfish act that a human being can perform, especially when they are experiencing various kinds of pain and upset. There is a sentence used in the Bible that describes the highest form of praise to God. It is an honor that was granted to the Levites and the Sons of Zadok (who were priests), and that honor was to "minister to the Lord." To minister to the Lord means, "to bless God, to congratulate Him, to honor Him for who He is, His eternal covenant and to bring gifts to Him." It's all about giving to God, not receiving, and once this takes place, God always responds with blessings upon His people. The most noted benefit of this kind of praise is that there is a change of attitude in the bearer and God's heart is reflected and revealed to them. I've said this many times before but prayer is not meant to change circumstances, prayer changes YOU and YOU change your circumstances. God intended for His people to communicate to Him and that is the essence of prayer. Something changes inside of you when you spend time praying and praising God, giving Him your most valuable gift, your time. I have done this all my life as a believer and every time I have done this, I am saved from being caught by the trap of pride, arrogance and the feeling that "I alone" is my burden in life and everyone else has been let off "scot-free."
Once I sense the dangers of feeling isolated, I remember how the great prophet Elijah went into depression and was driven into isolation after his greatest miracles on Mt. Carmel (bringing fire from heaven; consuming the most powerful political force -the politicians of Baal - and then bringing rain from Heaven at just one word from his mouth!). The life of a prophetic person is a total contradiction. I can be experiencing some of the worst attacks and accusations while at the same time, God is pouring a word into me for some of the most influential individuals in the world! This entire action by Elijah, of running away, came as a result of a witch, the Vice President of Israel - Jezebel, who made bold proclamations over him about his future, his death and such. Her words drove him into isolation. Sometimes we use the accusations and attacks from others as an excuse for our petty behavior, habits or actions. My sixteen year old son, Caleb, was recently describing a situation to me about a friend of his that was struggling to get beyond some past struggles and his words of wisdom to this person, which I found far beyond his age, astounded me. He said, "They just need to stop blaming others for their shortcomings and take responsibility for themselves." Elijah fell into this trap of getting caught up in what others were saying about him and he became weary. However, the Apostle Peter wrote that we should take joy in the middle of our suffering. 1 Peter 4:12-13, "Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy." What an attitude of gratitude!
Once Elijah was confronted by God who asked the question, "Elijah, what are you doing here?", he spewed out these prideful words, "I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts because the children of Israel have FORSAKEN YOUR COVENANT, torn down your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I ALONE am left...". (1 Kings 19:1-18) I am fully aware that isolation is a dangerous place to be and so I combat it as soon as I feel that prideful thinking that "I ALONE" is my share in this spiritual life. This kind of religious rhetoric is something I am capable of, we all are, but because of years of time in ministry and observation of the traps of fame, I despise it. I am also aware that there are others kept in "reserve." God told Elijah that even though he thought that he was alone, there were 7000 in reserve for God to use. It's like Moneypenny, in the James Bond movies, threatening 007 when he begins to act as if he's irreplaceable and she reminds him that there's always 008! Don't forget that although God has something planned uniquely for you and He has chosen you to carry out His will, there are others "in reserve" to fulfill what you cannot and to carry His voice and Word that will not return to Him void. Take joy in the knowledge of the future and let that joy carry you through the battle. We were the joy set before Christ on the cross enabling him to endure the pain and suffering.
Some amazing things happen when you "carry a word" inside of you. Remember Elijah "carried an abundance of rain" inside of him for over three years without releasing or voicing the prophecy. It was precious to him and you can imagine how it felt when he actually released the promise for the first time. Do you remember when that was? It was not on Mount Carmel in the presence of the army of Israel and the prophets of Baal, but in a little town called Zarapheth. There had been a drought and famine for three years and for that entire time Elijah carried the answer - the future - inside of him and was forbidden by God to release the word (or prophesy it) during that time. So, no rain until Elijah spoke. That is how powerful your promise is. However, the word spoken or released at the wrong time could disrupt what is normally a beautiful thing that should manifest at the right time or it could cause chaos in your present life. Chaos means "a marked break in continuity." Elijah was instructed by God after all this time to go to a town and receive provision. Upon arrival in the town, a poor lady was gathering a few sticks to make a final meal for herself and her son and then prepare to die.
Elijah prophesies over her and for the first time in three years, he releases the prophetic word regarding abundance into this household. She immediately begins to prosper and her gastronomic adventure begins. The oil, flour, etc. begins to overflow and soon her neighborhood hears about it and it becomes the talk of the town, "Abundance has come to Zarapheth!" Can you imagine how special they must have felt? No one else in Jerusalem had this blessing, including the King, but because Elijah had released the word to this widow woman and her son, the abundance came to that town before it hit anywhere else!
We carry the future inside of us - our own future - and when we are confronted with various challenges and struggles, either we deal with them or we begin to fall into self-pity, which leads to self-deception. Deception can change your view of yourself and then convince you that you are isolated and alone in your struggle and that no one else understands your plight. When this happens you have to be shaken into reality and God has a way of doing this perfectly. Self-deception leads to deceiving others. Every stage of inner growth contains more freedom than the one before, however the battle is also greater than the one before. We embrace the freedom, we reject the battle. It is hard to keep examining yourself all of the time and this eventually leads to self-prejudice. This is something that destroys a man's passion and energy to accomplish. The knowledge of the truth will set you free. Plato put it eloquently, "Once lit, the flame of truth will never go out." This is so true. Truth has a way of persistently driving you to MORE truth. Self-deception has a way of driving you AWAY from the truth. What is your greatest temptation? Are you tempted to turn into a martyr? Traditionally, it is held that the martyrs were legion and that they played a huge part in converting the pagan world. As long as suffering holds any temptation there is a hint of sin and in that arises the separation between God and you - the saint. The ego retains enough power to say that "I" am proving my holiness to God. This is a dangerous place to be.
Every step forward must be tested, and the temptation to go backwards persists right until the VERY END. Elijah received truth and instead of it driving him to more truth, he was driven away from the truth. God spoke to him and said "Elijah, what are you doing here?" Up until that point, Elijah had been completely controlled by creativity. From the brook, to the widow at Zarapheth, to the mountain of sacrifice and abundance, Elijah had been creative. When he stepped into the realm of fear and self-exaltation, he lost his creativity. This is exactly what the powers of hell want from you. They want to starve creative imagination and progressive truth.
God told Elijah to get back to his place of danger because He had planned to give him an Elisha who would carry Elijah's spirit with multiplication. When you isolate yourself, subtraction begins; when you move into God's perfect will, no matter how dangerous, you always, always multiply.
Multiplication has begun and will not stop unless you move away from "Crazy faith" which can be challenging and at times, dangerous. As the woman at Zarapheth drew the promise from Elijah in offering him provision, so let us offer unto God the sacrifice of praise which is the fruit of our lips, giving thank to His name (Hebrews 13:15). While you're enjoying gratitude, give an offering to God, not grudgingly or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver, and if you give in this manner, you enable God to make all grace abound (leap) towards you.
Let's move ahead in 2008 with abounding grace and favor. May this be the happiest and greatest year of our lives!

You ask a good question. I do beleive honest people may get it wrong on occassion, but if someone has a distinct pattern of being wrong, maybe they are not a prophet.
So what is the Church suppose to do about these "prophets" who are accurate maybe 60 to 70 % of the time.
I am not suggesting we stone them but if what they "prophecy" doesn't come to pass then it wasn't from God.
