Killing insects

Sorry if I offend the sensibilities of some but say for example ('cause this happened just a bit ago) while I am on the "can" and tryin to do my, ummm, "business" (and catching up my reading), a fly was buzzing me, landing on various places where I cannot swat it, etc; whether I am sinning and going straight to hell or not, dont care - as soon as it landed on something in front of me, I killed it with extreme prejudice. I did it, I killed it and I'm glad! GLAD!! GLAD I SAY!!!!


and I will do it again.......

i am glad that we agree.

but I have no problem killing an animal to eat even if I don't have to do so to feed my children.

I don't think killing a fish to eat it is much different from killing a plant and eating it.

that is rather unfortunate for you, i suppose. i am well able to distinguish sentient beings from plants and rocks.

of course, i don't think it is wrong. that is a word which your tradition enjoys usage of. i think it is unskillful, in that it will hinder, not help, along the path.
