  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm sorry, sometimes in the midst of yet another straw to break the camels back I forget how much I would miss my DS, but yeah. I couldn't do it for long.

Will he be back? Or can you go 'kidnap' him (NOT literally!) for an afternoon? Maybe on a weekend so you can get to spoil him like an Aunt should be able to. (of course insist he behave, but not have to worry about homework)

Whenever Andie's off to spend the weekend with her grandparents, I always am looking forward to it throughout the week...but by the end of the first day I'm missing her alot & having withdrawals! lol So I know how you're feeling...

Princessperky had a good idea...go & get him for an afternoon one Saturday & get ice-cream, go to the playground, go to a video game arcade, something like that...so you can get your "fix" and reassure yourself that he's doing ok.

Okay so I kept thinking I'd love all the free time, and to do as I pleased but it's very lonely! Not to mention a little boring...I miss him and I'm worried they left him with anyone willing to babysit even though I shouldn't worry because it's up to his father...blah

What the heck are you talking about? A little context would be nice. Is your kid with your parents? Is he at day care? Is he with a non-custodial parent?

I have my nephew full time, to the point most people assume he's my son. He's gone on vacation with his dad so for the first time in 2 years except for my honeymoon, I'm going more than 72 hours away from him. I'm just lonely that's all....most of the regulars here knew what I was talking about, no need to be rude.

I'll be okay, my hubby and I have a fun weekend planned.

Sorry, dude. Didn't mean to be rude. I just find a lot of this stream-of-consciousness posting around here and it's frustrating for those of us who don't know the context.

Yeah, but sometimes he feels like my own. He lived with me 24/7 for close to five months last year, then this past January his dad moved in 2 blocks away. I keep him easily 45 hours a week, all of which he's awake for most of it.

I'm sure my kids will be worse but I won't be having my SIL practically raise my kids either.

I'm sorry, before I referred to everyone as my nephew or my husband or my MIL or BIL, it slips sometimes.

The first time Desi was away from us was when she was 5 months old- thanksgiving weekend my parents took her for a night and hubby and I missed her so much we did not know what to do. We could not even sleep. I miss her when she spends the night with a friend. I am missing Curtis right now because I am at school and he is at grandmas house. I miss Desi too but I am know she is in school I am just used to having Curtis with me more. I miss both and I am so happy when I get to see them at the end of the school day.
