  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is the proof I needed to show that the president has NOT forgotten about al-queda and Bin Laden. Between this and the military "exercises" in Philippines to find abu-saayef terrorists, the war continues.

Just goes to show that when the media aren't reporting it day in and day out that doesn't mean that our governments aren't in there working towards bringing justice to those who were involved with the 9/11 attacks.

The good thing about this capture is what the intelligence services would have acquired at this guys house. Computers with countless data on it about potential locations of al-Qaeda cells in the world, contact numbers for key figures etc. This could well be the break that we all need in bringing al-Qaeda to its knees, so don't fret if nothing happens soon, but be assured that our intelligence agencies ARE working towards a resolution.

This guy was ranked number 22 on a 22 person list after 9/11. He's been moving up. Apparantly (color me shocked) anyone caught it claiming someone else is more high-ranked, more important, more involved in planning then they are.

The last guy we caught (whom we claimed was a top 9/11 planner) ratted out this guy, claiming he was.

Offhand, I don't know whether to be cynical or merely realistic. Either we're simply trumpeting everyone we catch off that list as a "top planner", or we've got no real clue how Al Qaeda is organized.

Regardless, it's good to see another one get caught. Might I add that doing so didn't involve bombing, invasion, or anything other than police work and diplomatic relations. And a 25 million dollar reward.

Going after terrorists with A-10s and cruise missiles has always been a fruitless exercise. Going after them with cops seems to work better.

OBL: You have slipped past us for now, but your days are numbered.

Osama bin Laden reads these forums?
Hello Osama, you little lurker you!

By the way, do you think someone could arrange to have this dirtbag Shaikh Khalid converted to Christianity please? Because if I'm going to have to spend eternity somewhere, I would prefer people like this be somewhere else.
Thanks in advance.

You can't have a war or terror anymore than you can have a war on drugs, terrorism is simply politicaly/religiously motivated organized crime.
