Okay, I don't care who you are or where your from... whether you're democratic or republican.... whether you supported Bush of Kerry... whether you agree with the war or not... whether your support the troops or not...

When a statement such as what follows is made, the being making the statement should be excommunicated by ALL, he should NOT be a polititian. There's a difference between playing politics and attacking citizens. It was not worded even halfway decent.... even if it were simply supposed to be aimed at bush.

"You study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. And if you don't, you get stuck in Iraq"

Some people... are morons no matter what party they ally themselves with.

The worst parts were the excuses by Kerry operatives. An insult to the intelligence of all Americans. Perfect illustrations of the low esteem Kerry's backers have of the American people. (Soros' Media Matters was first out of the gate claiming his words had been misinterpreted and what he said was a "joke" which went bad).

Everyone knows what Kerry said and what he meant. Everyone also knows those who are making excuses don't believe a word they are saying.

hehe, soros can be blamed for anything these days, with an active enough imagination.

i don't think the comment was entirely untrue, as it seems that a great portion of of those in the military these days come from poorer backgrounds with less education. its a simple fact. it was true during vietnam, as well.

yeah, it could have been worded differently, and yeah, it negates those who enlist to enjoy the benefits of the gi bill, and those who are doing it for purely patriotic reasons, but it still holds true for a great many.

When a statement such as what follows is made, the being making the statement should be excommunicated by ALL,...
oh please, far worse has been said on both sides of the aisle. lets not pretend that politicians don't say stupid things all the time.

No. That's a fact. Check Media Matters. Soros funds it. It was right there saying Lou Dobbs and others got it all wrong about Kerry's comments. Soros gave Democrats over $25 million in 2004. He hasn't stopped giving. He is the biggest single player moneywise in American politics today (the others are Peter Lewis, Steve Bing and the Sandlers--all four of whom work with Soros).

Can't do a google news search without running into Soros' and Podesta's operation (Ickes is involved as well which makes it a de facto Clinton media machine). They spam the net. Only person missing from the gig is Sidney Blumenthall but I guess he has some other job than flacking officially for Hillary now.

You are wrong to say that. It disgusts me. Everyone I know in the military (and that is alot of folks) have completed high school at LEAST which is more than I can say about anybody I work with.
two things. regardless of how many people you think you know in the military, i can assure you, it probably represents less than 1% of the actual number of soldiers. so taking and using them as a fair representation of the whole is probably not a good idea. secondly, to a degree, its a matter of perspective, as a high school education alone, to me, means 'not very well educated'. not to be disrespectful to anyone, its simply how i was raised.

That's a load of freakin crap right there!!! How on earth can you say that someone who hasn't gone to college "isn't well educated"? That's BS.

What's funny about this is the very week Kerry slips up and reiterates what he has said about the U.S. military before, the great liberal Sy Hersch comes out with an attack on the military. Exactly as the Democratic Party is trying to convince everyone they are stupid for misunderstanding what Kerry said as he really didn't say what he did.

Or something or other.

The military is getting a belly laugh out of it at least.

Kerry's comments were stupid, no lie. I'm beginning to think him a dumb*ss.

Still, however, this doesn't exempt Republicans from valid concerns about their poor job running this country the past five years.

Thank you for lumping us republicans all together. (Honest, no sarcasm meant).

Some folks seem to think everything that's happened is the sole responsiblity of Bush, which isn't true at all. We forget that we have the senate and the congress to keep one president from "taking over".

Well, not Joe and Joanna Republican who live down the block. I have problems with House/Senate/White House Republicans, but not Republicans in general.

I'm divided in that respect. Politicians in general are basically ALL morons. The politicians in the democratic and liberal parties have loose views and policies I can't follow, BUT stick to ALL of their views.

Republicans and conservatives have firmer views and policies but really don't follow through on any of their policies. It's all messed up.

At least one party has the guts to say what it is for. The other has a vocal group within it which knocks everything. Our troops, the war, the economy, people who dare to express their faith in the public square, Walmart, people who don't eat the right things, homeschoolers, people who drive the wrong car, the idea of patriotism itself and on and on. The attacks are endless. They even go after the 1950s. Try mentioning the sitcoms from the 50s to a liberal. You'll get a lecture on how America really wasn't like that (which it wasn't of course but there is nothing wrong with having ideals, with striving to be better than you are, with showing life as perhaps it could be. Lots better than being nihilistic and knocking everything).

Laura Ingraham was great today. Guess she went on O'Reilly and was stunned Bill said he didn't think or didn't know that Kerry's view of the military is typical. Not just the military the elites think are stupid, Ingraham said, its everyone who disagrees with them on anything.

Not only are you launching into a meaningless laundry list of "What I Hate About Democrats", but you lump all lib'ruls together. I, at least, made a distinction between House/Senate/White House Republicans as opposed to average Republicans.

Until a couple of years ago, I was really into social issues. That interest died, and I only just recently figured out why: the line between issues and politics had become blurred, and I had come to hate politics.

So as I relearn to care and fight for things I think are important... what I have figured out that the only real changes come, not through legislatures, but through ballot initiatives and a prayer that the courts won't overturn them.

Both parties have agreed to work together toward the same goal. While holding the public's attention, through fear of the possible liberal agenda, the "conservatives" implement their shared plan. The masses get to feel like they've defeated evil through voting, while government grows ever larger and more controling.

In Christ,
Tracey

The government doesn't have as much control as they'd like us to believe... which is why we as christians HAVE to vote for the RIGHT person, be it democrat or republican. We need to keep the government in check and the "uneducated people" who don't vote and refuse to be active participants in our country are simply dragging that effort down.
