Kent Hovind

I have seen most of Kent's stuff and he doesn't say that God made light travel faster (but if he did...is that ludicrous to think an all powerful being can do that?).

He said that God made the world mature, and that would create the fact that starlight can reach us.

I am not saying that Hovind should keep preaching stuff that has been disproven, but at least make truthful claims about the stuff he has said.

Also...it isn't all about money. You can watch his seminars for free. Just go download them for free from his site at www.drdino.com. Just so you know.

That's correct.  It has to do with being presumptuous about moral standards.

So how much press do you think bad "evoultionists" get?

Evolutionary frauds get a lot of press.  There was recent fraud regarding an early Chinese flying dinosaur, I believe the name was archaoraptor liaoningensis, similar to Archaeopteryx.  It got bad press in several papers, as well as a retraction and apology in National Geographic.

I'm willing to bet money that if a christian says something unscientic and a nonchristian says the same thing. The christian will get "beat up on" much much more.

Beat up more, for just making a comment? Nonsense.

Not unless the christian tried to use the bible as proof for whatever nonscientific comment was made.  In which case, they probably would be laughed at.

Oh, and by the way, Louis - I noticed that you didn't respond to my comment.

Why is it that you have such hard time admitting that Hovind is a fraud?

Given the evidence, what is your reason for still being "on the fence" here?

How can you claim to be non-biased, when you still cannot bring yourself to admit the man's deception, even in the light of monumental errors and distortions of fact?

that's right. You've proven to me you're not worth discussing anything with. You don't go by logic and you don't know how to discuss things in an scholarly way, so in this forum I don't respond to you when its possible. :)

You're just trying to exit the debate without actually being put in an uncomfortable spot.  So instead of answering, you try to leave out the back door, and hope no one notices.

It's a simple question: why can't you admit that Hovind is a fraud?

And don't pretend that I am the only one asking this question, or who wants to know your answer.

I believe that this is the thrid, maybe fourth, post I have written in concerning Hovind's credibility, or lack thereof.

I am sure that no one really cares what I have to say, but that has never stopped me before :)

I feel that I can speak freely about this, because for quite some time I did believe all Hovind had to say (not all of his theory, but believed his info), and I have come to find, recently, that he is a fraud. I was very disappointed, because, to be honest, he seemed like an answer to my prayers. I am a Christian, I do believe in a young earth, and I do believe in Creation.

I was disappointed in myself for not researching what he said first, but rather, believed him and then looked into to it. Sort of like shooting first and asking questions later.

I am very disappointed in him for two reasons: 1) On one of his tapes he said that people need to stop trying to change the Bible, because in the end it will prove itself without any help from anyone...good point, wrong person to come from. 2) He quoted Adolf Hitler on one of his videos as saying people will believe a big lie easier than a small one...guess Hovind had a little bit more behind that meaning than many people realized, especially me.

LouiseBooth, do you think Kent Hovind is an honest Christian?  Do you disagree with the notion that he is a fraud?
