Work requirements have been tried in the past and they largely don't do what they purport to do. The savings they produce come mostly from kicking off people who are eligible, but who, for one reason or another, fail to jump through the bureaucratic hurdles required to demonstrate their eligibility. That's not increasing efficiency or cleaning up abuse; that's just denying help to people who need it.
.
So, your point is no to bother with work requirements for welfare programs because they only exclude this who truly qualif?
========
??? I thought that Clinton and Gingrich covered that years ago. Work require requirement work fine if the state employees are trained and do their jobs.
=========
Your position seems to be that we should ignore qualifications and allow everyone to receive federal help. OK, then it is RIGHT to greatly reduce the number of employees. They have nothing to check. Relatively few are needed to simply check income and process checks.

Yes.

Even if we accept your statement as true (I don’t), “if the state employees are trained” is in no way a safe assumption. Additionally, there’s no guarantee that the associated websites or apps will be functional or easy to use. I tried filing for unemployment benefits a couple years ago and gave up because the website was a mess and I never got out of the phone system’s hold loop. That’s an example of the administrative burden that causes eligible people to not submit claims.

These work requirements would be new qualifications that would have to be met and demonstrated. This isn’t about checking qualifications for existing rules.

I've long felt that work requirements for welfare aren't a bad idea at all...but they need to be administered better. Job training and placement needs to be provided to help people find employment, rather than just leave them unaided to the same situation that probably led to them needing assistance in the first place. Child care should also be available, since in many cases, having to care for small children is a major reason why some people aren't able to hold a regular or full time job.

But, the problem there, of course, is those things need to be funded and administered. And spending money to fund programs that help people who need it is, apparently, something some people don't like to do.

-- A2SG, but I'm sure they have their valid, compassionate reasons.....

Maybe lead exposure is beneficial as it leads children to vote R as adults?
Well, far be it for me to jump to conclusions. But from here: Lead Toxicity - StatPearls - NCBI Bookshelf

'Even at low blood lead concentrations, there is an inverse relationship between blood lead concentrations and intelligence quotient (IQ) scores and markers of academic achievement'.

When capital gains taxes and corporate taxes are lowered, then businesses grow, expand, and hire more employees at better wages.
is that why the deficit goes up higher with republicans, and wages have stagnated for decades? And if you believe what your saying I got a bridge to sell you, they already only expand what they need, they don't need tax cuts to insentivize them, as guess what more money is good even if less. You bought the lie that 20+ years have shown isn't real.

as much as I hate trump, I really want to buy him a thesaurus, I can't take 4 more years of, "best, biggest, beautiful." and such.
We had to put up with rambling, forgetfulness, repeated untrue stories and absolute incompetence for four years. I think you should survive just fine.

Apparently there was an appx 5 point IQ drop across the entire US during the leaded gas era.

There is no comparison to the cognitive ability of Trump and Biden. Even many liberals are now admitting Biden was not mentally fit to be President. Many liberals are so consumed with hate all reason and reality have disappeared from any discussion.

He used to have a good vocabulary and was able to speak in paragraphs with complex clauses. His vocabulary is increasingly diminished and repetitive. His sentences start on one subject then he seems to lose the thought and ramble on in another direction without returning to whatever point he was originally going to make. That's fine at a rally, but in a speech or an interview...eek. His late night not-Tweets are also frequently unhinged-seeming.

really? Because many people feel trump has dementia, the guy has incoherant random talking points at most inapropriate times, he's got trouble remembering things. Keep lying to yourself about biden, but as usual with the right, every acusation is a confesion.

yeah, I love how the right complains about biden, when we see it just as bad as they claim or worse with trump.

I mean remind me how many civil war airports there was?

Ha! Your attempt to smear President Trump and make him appear stupid is noted! It was the War of 1812 that we captured the airports.

Pure nonsense. Anyone who claims Trump has dementia after lying about Biden’s dementia for four years have zero credibility.

No, Biden was slow and forgetful, but he wasn't demented. Trump has been sinking into dementia.
