Just wondering, why did they take away the original Teen's Forum? I never really understood, could someone elighten me?

Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There's a topic in the Announcements forum about it. And most of the staff will tell you its a pretty sore topic still. From what I understand, some teens attacked some of the staff personally, even going so far as to hack into two staffers' computers. So, the teen section was basically taken offline for a few weeks while things were discussed. Now everyone's just doing their best to get things back up and running smoothly. 
Sorry if I can't provide more information, but that's pretty much as far as I know.

Right, blaming it all on the hackers is not what caused the issue...not that i condone whoever hacked the computers.

Incorrect.
Changes were being discussed, what exactly was being changed was not definite untill we had our hand forced by someone leaking.

Point is, the teens who were originally here have moved on. I still post in the forum but I don't see much of a point in posting here. Regardless of who's fault it was...the group left, there will be new people I'm sure.

Yeah, whatever. Fact of the matter is, changes were made that ostracized many regular users.

From one caught in the crossfire:
Plans for change were leaked. This made some teens angry. This made some staff angry. Both did silly things
Basically to me it seems it was blow way bigger than it should have been and now a lot of the original teens have left for another forum.

What big deal is a forum "leak"? lol its not like database passwords got out or anything that would be total chaos. This place is sooooo boring now =/

Apparently staff were talking about changes for the teen section. Unfinished discussions were leaked and this angered some teens. Personally I dont think it matters that info was leaked, the main problem was that some on both sides took actions afterwards too far.
