Just what exactly is "living in sin"?

Ok so, I sin. A lot. Join the club right? But, here's the thing not only do I sin without thinking about it and I'm filled with remorse to the point of repentance constantly. I desire to live a Godly life and obey Jesus's commands but my Christian walk is filled with nothing but sin. My question is this, just what is "living in sin"? Is it normal to be a child of Jesus yet, sin like the devil? I know the gospel. I know that Jesus died for the sins of the elect past, present, and future. But, is it really repentance when I keep committing the same sins over and over again? Surely you'd think there is a point where you sin outside of God's grace. Yes, I know Jesus died for the elect. I'm confident that I am one of the elect. But, the Bible tells us to examine ourselves and all I see from self examination is I do a lifetime full of failure. All I see is me constantly breaking God's law. All I see is me sinning without even caring about the consequences until the Holy Spirit makes me feel like I'm dead inside.

If God told me on judgement day that I wasn't one of his followers and I'm going to hell my response would not be "look at what I've done." My response would be "you're right. I've done nothing but live in sin and your judgement against me is just".

Because let's face it ALL of humanity has fallen short of the glory of God. To get into heaven you have to be perfect making salvation without Jesus impossible. We ALL deserve hell for breaking God's law. If I was punished for my sins than I would only be getting what I deserve for sinning against God and breaking his law.

So what defense do I have without Jesus? I don't. Nobody on this planet gets injustice. God is a perfect and righteous judge afterall. Idk. I don't think it's repentance when I commit the same exact sins over and over and over again. I'm supposed to have victory over many of my sins right?

Your response to the accuser should be ‘ I claim the blood of the lamb’. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. They have only to accept that forgiveness and belief.

You seem too hard on yourself. But keep repenting. You should have some victory. Keep struggling with it. Don’t be hyper vigilant on your own case all the time. Think on these things’ Phil 4.

Living in sin is usually for two people living together unmarried.

Being in the flesh and ruled by the flesh, maybe. Are you not lifted up into the spirit and better things, like joy and peace. Are you always heavy and burdened?

I usually always sin so I'm usually always heavy and burdened. I was told that was the Holy Spirit convicting me of sin.

His Helper, the Holy Spirit, will help you overcome sins so that your walk is truly one that includes genuine repentance. Blessings.

Rejoice when your forgiven! That just it good behavior doesn’t come from heaviness, it just makes you grumpy. Rejoice in the lord always, and again I say rejoice. The joy of the lord is your strength. You are oppressed by a heavy burden of sin, but the lords yoke is easy his burden is light. Or vice versa. Rejoice in your salvation. Mat 11:28.

Pray for awareness, stop some of it. That will give you joy.

My advice, go grab a burning charcoal to test yourself before you decide to accept hell. You mind is deceiving you.

No, hell is the worst thing imaginable but we ALL deserve to go there. Unless, neither of us have ever once broken God's laws?

James 1 5 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith, without doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That man should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

We do all deserve to go there, but Jesus Christ in His great love for humanity provided a way out. We don't deserve the escape, but He gave it to us anyway. Praise His holy name.

We aren't saved because we were good enough and deserved to be saved. We are saved because His love made it happen, even though we can never be good enough.

I am joining you in prayer for the Lord to help us overcome the sins we keep relapsing into. I do that too. My sin hurts Him, and I don't want to hurt anybody who loves me so much.

Epistle John chapter 3, it's the habitual sinners. They don't care. Won't repent, and won't conform to God's standard. The sinner are Christian people who try not to sin, but repent sins to God and be forgiven. The habitual sinners go to sheol. The saints go to paradise.

I think constantly sinning is a sign of spiritual immaturity. There's a lot of things I used to do, that have no appeal to me now. It was a matter of spiritually growing out of those things. To where the will of God became stronger in my life than my own will. To a greater extent. I still have more spiritual growing ahead of me.

He is faithful and is offering you a way of escape with each tempation.
Look for the escape. It is there somewhere.

1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV
13. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man:
but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able;
but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
