Is this not the formula for being a child of God? Is being a part of God's church a buffet, to pick and choose what we are comfortable with?

The formula for being a child of God is to be humble and prove ALL things you are entitled to your opinion so is everyone else. You seem to think that this forum is your personal space. Everyone is entitled to their own ideas, the way you think you would make a good candidate for a cult church, giving your mind over to other without thinking. I am glad that the people in the Caribbean have a mind of their own. I am not sure what kind of work you do but perhaps you don't have to make too many decisions seems people do everything for you:cool:

It is really strange that the church believes we should not SMOKE, EAT PORK I agree with that, but imagine having hospitals which perform abortions and the said hospital does not serve pork products on its menu. How sick can people become. Willing to participate in the murder of unborn children and yet have a serious problem with smoking and eating pork. The hypocrisy is overwhelming. I ask myself Whither goes the SDA church. I discussed this with an elder and he told me that the doctors are not SDA. I asked him if I had a house which I rented out to someone and then I found that they were using it for a prostitution house, I would take my keys from them. The whole idea of what is important to the SDA church is becoming more and more amusing each day. May God give discernment and cause a serious revival.

I didnt have to time to read through all those links, maybe later today...

but in a nutshell, do SDA hospitals perform abortions??????????????????

I hope not... otherwise I might throw up when I think I might have sponsored those hospitals with my money in the past....

Does that mean that we can only be saved if we got it 100% right? like the name of Jesus doesnt count... or in other words the name counts only with a 100% correct package full of details and doctrines attached?

Do you think you can be saved if you willingly follow false doctrine? Christ showed that there will be people who will call His name that will be turned away. The name of Jesus only matters if you are doing what Jesus said to do.

I think that was in regard to selfishness, and it even left an impression to me that its about the people who stuck to certain rules and regulations and left the needy were they were, needy...

Christ says that those who do the will of His Father are the ones who will be saved. It's not about leaving or not leaving needy people needy. You can feed/clothe/employ everyone in the world and still be lost.

God says He desires obedience rather than sacrifice. If we opt not to obey His word than what is left for us? Doesn't Christ say that people were worshiping Him in vain because they were teaching doctrines of man in the place of doctrines of God?

you were referring to Mathew 25, right? I think so... Christ described people who didnt help the needy, didnt visit the ones in prison... and I guess that was the will of the Father...

Look it up Crib. It starts in Genesis and goes to Revelation.
That's normally the cooperation I get from you and others in this forum. When the tables turn you try to constrain me to arguments using isolated texts.
How do you expect to declare who wont be saved and not quote from the scriptures? Here are your words Stryder.....

I simply asked you; What does Jesus say to do? You brought this issue up Stryder, so why cant you zone in on your own questions about salvation?

Tables turned? Didn't know that had occurred, and I don't know what "isolated text" is Crib. I don't use that type of logic in regards to scripture.
The way I see it, if there is ONE text that goes against my understanding, than it's my understanding that needs adjustment, not the "isolated text".

It's a yes or no question. Can you willingly follow false doctrine and be saved? Will the name of Jesus avail you anything if you are living in deliberate disobedience?

You ask me a question and restricted my answer to the words in one text. The fact is, since the words of 4th commandment does not command worship or feasts or offerings, how can I prove that these ceromonies define what happens on the 7th day sabbath without other scriptures? You're not being reasonable.
The other hand, is that, in this thread, I'm holding you accountable to prove what you say Christ commands. Your response is: read the bible...... My point: you're not being reasonble.

The way I see it, if there is ONE text that goes against my understanding, than it's my understanding that needs adjustment, not the "isolated text".
On that statement we agree 1000%

You said more than a yes or no question. you added.... The name of Jesus only matters if you are doing what Jesus said to do.
So my question to you: "What does Jesus say to do?" is valid in the scope of our discussion. Your response : Look it up...Gen-Rev is ducking the issues.

I think I'm being very reasonable. The 4th commandment is the commandment in question. Thus I'd like to think we should first establish what the commandment says before talking about what happened on that day. I don't have a problem with you using texts that show what took place on the sabbath, but do those texts answer this question - Does the sabbath commandment call for sacrifices? If it doesn't, than how can the commandment, be a ceremonial one? Yes, there were ceremonies that occurred on the sabbath, but that doesn't make the sabbath commandment, a ceremonial one.

You said more than a yes or no question. you added.... The name of Jesus only matters if you are doing what Jesus said to do.

:DYes, it's my argument that resting is a sacrifice.
Let's leave this issue in the other thread.

OK you got me, I'm fishing for biblical truth from your mouth.
I expected you to say: what Jesus say to do is: keep my commandments.
Then I would respond with scriptures in context, to show these words meant, what Jesus had taught while in the flesh, rather than what Moses taught by letter.

What are you really affraid of?:idea::idea: Please expose me as presenting falsehood if you can.

Let God's word be true Stryder.

I know that's what you wanted me to say, and I know that's how you would respond. Thus the reason why I said I'm ok. Again, I don't buy the "Christ has laws that differ from the Father" logic. Nor do I believe that Christ was teaching something different, "while in the flesh", although I will say that you get points for originality with that one

What are you really affraid of?:idea::idea: Please expose me as presenting falsehood if you can.
Not sacred. Just not in the mood

Loving the Christ like attitude... I may have opinions but I try to temper what I say and not make it personal but to each their own.

I am glad that all people in the Carribean are so enlightened, can't say the same for my neck of the woods.

As far as what I do, if you are worried about my decision ability, I wouldn't fly if I were you... :)
