  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just occasionally.....

Hello, and greetings from the UK!

I am Pastor of a small church and, for most of the time, thoroughly enjoy my work.

However, just now and then, I do feel that I would love to be out of ministry and just be an ordinary church member with someone to love me, care for me and encourage me instead of me having to to all the loving, caring and encouraging.

Being single makes it that little bit more difficult as there are times when i just long for someone to come home to - to talk things over with, to pray with, to shout at even.

So, may I encourage you to pray for your church leadership - and tell them you are doing so - It will be a real blessing to them

Regards

Ebenezer

Even Pastors need a Pastor, That is why I'm grateful that my Church has a confessor system (since we have the sacrament of reconcilliation we have to): The benifit is that each of us has a friend and companion in the Lord to cousel us, and to care for us and our spiritual needs.

Consider reaching out to other pastors in your area, form a prayer and comfort group. You could take turns being the leader, and help each other in matters of comfort and faith.
