  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

my 3 yr old has never been much of a big eater he just isnt inrsted in much food which if fine cause he does still eat something. but there is quite often that he just doesnt eat anything. i put a meal down to him and he doent touch it. i dont give him snacks. he really likes to drink alot he drinks alot of milk. i dono weither to be worried about him just eating
a certain meal. i dont worry to much if he doesnt want breakfast or lunch cause i usally just make lunch or breakfast earlier and he eats it all. but i get really worried when he wont eat his dinner cause once he finishes dinner i get him ready for bed and its then story time and hes asleep. but he wont have anything to eat till morning. even when he has went to bed on no dinner (no matter how much i try to get him to eat it) he doesnt wake up during the night. but he does eat all his breakfast in the morning.

i dono weaither to be worried that he doesnt want to eat. hes not under weight, hes a very heahtly boy, full of energy. i just dont understand why he doesnt want food. hes no a fussy eater he will eat anything but just some times he just doesnt want it.

i have been told that his ack teeth are coming in so dono if that has any thing to do with it.

I wouldn't worry to much, since you said he wasn't under-weight and was healthy. I remember my son went through a stage like this, and when I ask the doctor, he said when he's hungry, he'll eat and just keep an eye on his weight. Alot of kids go thru this "don't want to eat" phase and eventually grow out of it.

glad to know its not just my child.

always makes you feel better doesnt it.

Yes.

My son's doctor says he's healthy. so for now I don't worry. I am just afraid he might learn some bad eating habits. Like reaching for quick snacks that are not real nourishing.

How much milk is a lot of milk? I assuming non-human milk here. My nephew hardly ate but drank easily over 20oz of milk a day and equal that in juice if not more. I switched to only serving milk and/or juice with meals and he started eating more food.

Depending on the type of milk he could be getting a lot of his calories from the milk alone and simply not be hungry.

I would agree with Linnis on this one, he's most likely filling up on fluid.

The other thing I would suggest is taking note of the types of food he is eating and the type are serving as in texture wise. The foods we generally serve for breakfast and lunch are foods that are easier to chew. I had swap some of my daughters lunches and dinners because if I served say steak meat at dinner because the end of the day she was tired and couldn't be bothered doing the work required to chew that piece of meat. So I would suggest more textured or chewy foods at lunch, and less textured ones for dinner until they build up those muscles.

I also agree with Linnis. I would limit the milk/juice to lunch & dinner only, letting him drink water between meals. Maybe offering a healthy snack in the mid-afternoon~ especially on days that you know he's not going to be too keen on what's for dinner?

Some kids just don't eat as much as others, so there is nothing to worry about as long as he's healthy (which it sounds like he is).

Yeah, I Know Its Frustrating. My Dh Is Almost 4 And Does The Same Thing. The Good New Is, Is That There Has Never Been A Case Of A Small Child Starving Them Selves To Death. They Will Eat When They Are Hungry, And When They Decided Their Hungry Put The Plate Of Dinner Or Breakfast Or What Ever Back Down, Don't Give Them Something Else Or Snack Ect. Jmo That Is What I Have Done. Hope This Helps A Little
