• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Praying for you!I have tried seroquel but it was in combo with a different med and we all react individually to meds. It was not the right med for me, but it may be for you. Give it a chance and keep your doc informed if side effects are a problem. Blessings!

I love seroquel because it's the only thing ever that's helped me get some sleep. I take 200mg at night with my Trileptal.

The only problem I had is I used to wake up in the night to potty, but then I'd be so loopy from the seroquel I'd got eat stuff and not even realize it. But we knew I was eating because I'd leave a mess all over the kitchen. I started locking my bathroom door, and apparently that's enough to stop me. :)

I hope your med changes are successful!

I already get up in the night to go to the bathroom, but thats the norm for me. It hasn't made me get up anymore than before though.

The only thing that concerns me is the fact that this drug on rare occasions can cause diabetes, and it can make your triglicerides and cholesteral jump.

I already have high cholesteral, high trigicerides, and diabetes runs on both sides of the family. The doctor I went to never asked me about this stuff or my full medical history witch is scary to me. I got this info out of a pill book from the pharmacy.

 I will give it some time, she is having bood work drawn every so often to keep an eye on things. I know when I go to get blood work they are drawing 4 different tubes. I have to atleaste give her a chance. My original doctor was from the philipeanes, she was the only one who could find the real problem with me. Ive had good luck with doctors from forien lands in the past.

Anybody else here ever take 1500 miligrams of depakote in one shot before bed, and 200 miligrams a Seraquel. Seems to work good that way for me as far as helping me to get sleep.

The raising of chlesterol and trygliserides and possible diabetes are just side effects that could hapen but are rare. Every single drug you take out there has a list of side effects that could happen, even something as simple as asprin has a page full of possible side effects.

I will keep a close eye on things though.
