  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Many people find the ballet boring....

Well there is an all male company called Trocadero that makes it entertaining for all. They kind of spoof the real ballets...without compromising on beautiful ballet technique. And there is something fascinating about watch a man dance on pointe.

Watch this slightly warped version of Swan Lake and smile....

The company is all male dancers and they do all the parts to a variety of ballets...always with a twist. It is not a "gay" company. They do this because it brings more people to the ballet ... and they have fun. They are all incredible "ballerinas" and I am just as impressed with the male roles because they have to lift these less than petite "ladies" in the air.

There is a trick in which a male dancer can lift a female dancer. When I played a suitor in "Seven Brides For Seven Brothers,"The women were told,by our director, to exhale as we were lifting them. This action is the same as letting air out of a ballon. When the woman exhales, she becomes lighter.

I kind of suspect that "trick" doesn't really apply to a ballerina...cause I know they don't use it in pairs figure skating. Breathing is kind of important and many "lifts" last for more than a couple minutes with the woman is actually doing active movements during the lift. It is entirely about strength and balance.
