  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not a lot, I've been sick with a cold and sinus junk for a week...but on the good side, my parents and I went on a college visit out to Oklahoma City (Mid-America Christian University) on Thursday and Friday. They wanted to see the place. They came away liking it a lot. It is a really small school, less than a thousand students living on campus. Quite a bit more students that are in the online and working adult programs. Around 15 people in an average class...about a 17:1 student-faculty ratio. It is small, and about 8 hours from home. But it has an amazing ministry program, I know people out there, and the place just feels right. While I was there I auditioned for the choir and made it, with that I am going to get a 500 dollar(a semester) scholarship as long as I stick with the choir, which is a free class.

Wow, NOT a lot? :D

That sounds really awesome about the college! It's great that you and your parents really like it and you'll be going someplace you'll enjoy, and knowing people is great too. Will you be starting this year?

I'm finishing high school this year and moving on to college as well... I've been working on scholarships that may pay for a really good portion of it. I'm looking at Central Florida, in Orlando. It's like the opposite of what you described, being the second largest school in the nation :D. I did look at some Christian schools that were small and intimate, but UCF offered some good scholarships and I like the area up there.

Sometimes I find it hard to believe I've actually gotten to this point :D :3

But great to hear you got everything planned out and ready, and congrats on making the choir! =D I hope you're ok with that cold too. Those are no fun.

Yeah I'll be starting there this fall, and I have been working on scholarships too. My parents are saying that not counting local scholarships, we should have around half it paid.

And yeah, I'll survive this cold...lol I've felt better, but I've felt worse too so I got no reason to complain.

Had the first of our three FCA youth revivals this week at my school gym tonight. It was quite the time, we were only there like an hour, and only 20 people showed up. But the presence of the Lord was heavy on the place. Great music, and a great speaker, I can't wait till tomorrow night.
