So, I have been a Christian for awhile, but have just recently decided to look into the the stories of the bible and not question, but ponder the facts.
Not arguing with the bible, nor God just trying to add science and history to it so it can make more sense to me.

Noah's ark, we all know the story, but did you know many cultures have the same story
Is there a possibility that if the world was divided at the time into the continents that we have now, that maybe there was a few Arks? And the the others who wrote of such a flood with a singular family surviving and having two of each type of animal, also could be true?
Like let's say we have our Noah, but other cultures have their version of Noah's story also yet using different names, because they are different people. So we have a few arks floating around waiting for God to stop the flood?

They have the same stories because of the one Ark that God made and the one flood that saved the animals and Noah's family. The 8 survivors were the new beginning of the human race and as they dispersed throughout the world, the story was handed down and over time became mixed with local ideas. That virtually every culture has this story is further prove of it's authenticity.

Alternatively, people tend to build settlements live by rivers where there is a regular source of water, food, irrigation and transport, but which are liable to disastrous floods. It is hardly surprising that so many cultures will have passed down stories of such floods and the people who survived them. Coastal settlements will be vulnerable to tsunami and storm surges, while the whole coast at the time of the last ice age and land up to 120 meters high is now below sea level due to melting icecaps. It is hardly surprising we find so many stories of floods. What does vary are numbers of people and what they brought with them, and even more importantly, the different means of escaping the floods, sometimes in a boat, others by climbing a tall tree or fleeing to high ground or a mountain. Which sounds more like different people escaping different floods in different places and different times rather than garbled versions of a single event. Floods still happen and people will pass on the story of how they escaped.
