• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I have Aspergers and also got a jury summons to appear for a jury in January, January 2nd. As really not just do I have Aspergers but also am structured and suffer from depression.

As I feel I need to get a doctor's note to back it up that I do take medication and have problems and would be a jury's and case's worst nightmare. Due to the way I function.

By not just one psychologist but also the psychatrist that prescribes the medication for me.

Tell me what are my chances of being on a jury. Kind of would want to serve and kind of would not. More the latter than the former.

Thank you my friends, appreciate a response back!

I have only been called for jury duty once. After they screen out people that are too close to the case, each attorney gets to dismiss three jurors without any explanation. The defense attorney dismissed me under that clause.

Ask your doctor(s) if they think that you are capable of serving. If they say no, they will give you a (non-detailed) note. Usually, you will still have to attend the jury pool meeting, anyway, where you will be give an opportunity to request dismissal for medical reasons. They may even allow you to phone in (before that date), and have the doctor fax the note.

My dad is taking care of it. As he is trying to get a written permission note from the doctor saying that I do take medication and that I do have Asperger's and am not faking it. To make sure as he called two doctors!
