  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There will be surprises...

Mt 25:31 –Mt 25:46 NKJV
“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?
When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
“Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’
Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Well said, my brother in Christ. I would only add there will be no surprises between those judged at the Great White Throne and those written in the Book of Life.

RE: Matt 25:31-46

At the end of the seven-year Tribulation, Christ will return in person to establish the millennial phase of his kingdom headquartered in Jerusalem. His first order of business is a clean sweep.

†. Mtt 13:40-43 . . As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Adam will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

A portion of the weeding process includes the famous sheep and goats judgment which practically everybody who doesn't know any better mistakes for a sort of general judgment. However, this judgment in Matt 25:31-46 only involves Tribulation survivors, not the whole human race, and it specifically targets everybody who was indifferent to the plight of Jesus' Jewish countrymen under the awful persecutions of the antichrist. This judgment is very severe. The losers go directly to eternal punishment.

The Great White Throne judgment of Rev 20:11-12 takes place after the current cosmos is obliterated with a thunderous, ear-splitting explosion (2Pet 3:10, Rev 20:11, Rev 21:1) which won't occur until after the millennium phase of Messiah's kingdom is completed. This particular judgment can be said to usher in the eternal phase of Messiah's kingdom.

A salient feature of the Great White Throne is that it is specifically for judging the Dead; who are mentioned four times; while the Living are nowhere to be seen in the text of this judgment. If the Living attend the Great White Throne judgment, it will be only as spectators and/or witnesses for the prosecution, if they attend at all.

I highly recommend the book below to anyone curious about the order of end-time events, and the nature of the judgments that are scheduled to take place during the day of the Lord.

RE: Will we have to stand before God and atone for our sins we haven't confessed?

It's very difficult sometimes to impress upon born-again Christians that the sins they commit while down here on the planet don't follow them to Heaven; no, they stay here with their dead body when they pass.

The reason for that is because of a miraculous surgical operation performed by the hand of God.

†. Col 2:11-12 . . In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of flesh by the circumcision of Christ; having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with him through faith in the operation of God, who raised him from the dead.

In other words, your new self— created into existence by means of a special miracle as per John 3:3-8 —isn't the one committing your sins; no, they're being committing by the flesh; viz: your Adamic self.

So then, when you die, your fleshly self will drop off like a circumcised foreskin; and only your new self will stand before God; which is a 100% innocent self. So then, you will have nothing to answer for.

†. 1John 3:8-9 . .Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

For a born-again Christian, the purpose of confession is not atonement; but rather, fellowship. (1John 1:1-10)

The Greek word for fellowship in 1John is koinonia (koy-nohn-ee'-ah) which means: partnership, i.e. (literally) participation, or (social) intercourse

Confession is not only for fellowship; it's also for bathing: specifically for bathing your flesh.

†. 1John 1:9 . . If we confess our sins, He is faithful, and just, to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

When you get to Heaven, you won't need any more bathing because your new self doesn't sin.

I guess the big question now is: Have you undergone a second birth as per John 3:3-8?

(You don't have to answer that question; it's just food for thought.)

I would only add that while we won't be answering for our
sins, we will be answering for our works and service down here.

The bible mentions that we store up our treasures in heaven
instead, and there is loss of reward that can come depending
on our service (or lack thereof).

What will Believers do on Judgment Day?
Will we have to stand before God and atone for our sins we haven't confessed, or will we have to do nothing because of what Christ for us on the cross?

You will do nothing on Judgment Day, because of what Christ has already done for you on the cross. You will most likely hear something along the lines of "these belong to me," or "not guilty," or something like that. But you have nothing to fear as you are covered and forgiven and purchased with Christ's blood and atoning sacrifice for your sins.

I think I'll have alot of fear standing there whether there's
judgment or not.... first, just seeing God face to face
would make me fall on my face and any sort of report card
type situation or evaluation and fhagetta-bot it
:swoon:

Nadiine, you won't fear God because you'll have no reason to fear God since you will have no sin. You will be raised in a new body, a body without sin. You'll have no sin because of what Christ did on the cross. So you'll be a righteous person standing before a righteous God, what is there to fear? Christ took your sin and gave you His righteousness.

Another great book is the Bible as it's written. The Pre-tribbers have no case.

I'm not amillenial, but I'd have to agree pre-trib doesn't have a scriptural leg to stand on. Sorry :p

Moving on to the original question.

First, it would depend on which judgement day you are talking about because the bible actually speaks of three different judgements.

I'm not going to try and argue how all these fit together, but the first mentioned is by Jesus. He says that when He returns there will be a judgement in which he "seperates the sheep from the goats." In other words he seperates his people from those whom he does not know. His people being the sheep, those He does not know being the goats.

Later Paul mentions what is often times referred to as the "Bema seat" judgement or just the bema judgement. Bema is the greek word that Paul uses to describe the throne from which Jesus Christ will judge the Church, his people. The word was sometimes used to describe the seat occupied by judges who gave out awards at sporting events. Thus the imagery depicted here tends to be one of Jesus handing out awards to his faithful people.

Finally in revelation there is a third judgement usually known as the White Throne judgement. In this judgement all of the wicked and unrighteous people are depicted as standing before God seated on a white throne and He pronounces sentence upon them, condemning them to the lake of fire.

Some people think all these desribe aspects of one judgement, others think they describe seperate events. Personally I tend to think they are seperate events. Never the less we can rest assured that they are all true.

Thus the only time that we will stand before God together with the wicked is when the sheep are seperated from the goats. God deals with his people seperately. When the wicked are condemned, we will not be standing before the judgement throne at all.

That being said, it is often conveniently ignored that Paul clearly tells believers that they will give account for their deeds before God. You will not atone for your sin, but you will be held to account for your deeds and your words.

Prison camps? Why would we be in prison camps? We're just as saved as you are. So why would we not be taken at the rapture, like you? Are you suggesting we're not saved because we disagree with your heretical view here?

I agree with Simon regarding the Judgments, however, I don't agree that pre-trib theology is unscriptural.

I understand that many don't agree but I wouldn't go as far to say there is no Scriptural foundation for pre-tribulation beliefs.

Cris,

I used to be in the Pre-Trib camp, and what led me to the Amillenial camp is comparing what scripture says against what the Pre-Tribulationists say. Scripturally, it doesn't line up. Books like Left Behind have done more damage to end times theology than anything else.
