Heb 9:27.

Is it reasonable to believe that every man and woman will have to give an account of every action? (both good and bad)


If there is judgement, does that mean there will be punishment, or is it just a stern talking too?

I'd love both scriptural and non scriptual sides. I just don't see how God could be a "good God" if He didn't have a day to punish evil. If a man raped and killed a woman or child, and never got caught by the law, won't God bring that to something more punshing than a lecture?

Dear Mailman Dan. Our God is loving and righteous God. All misdeeds and good deeds are known to Him. Jesus came to show us God, His Love for us, and how much He wants us back again. Jesus paid the price for our transgressions, and we were reconciled to God. Jesus also left us 2 Commandments, which contain all 10 Commandments, God gave us. 1) Love God with all your hearts, with all your souls, and with all all your minds. 2) Love each other, as you love YOURSELVES. (Never say or do anything to anybody else, what you would not have Anybody do to you, or your loved ones.) That is not easy, Dan, and only possible with the help and guidance of Jesus, our Saviour. While we still live on Earth, God`s Law, (which stands forever) will sooner, or later reward us, for all good deeds, or punish us for all evil and cruel deeds. ( Human Law may be faulty, or missing altogether, But God`s Law Never fails.) God will know and God will repay, Dan, we may trust God with all our hearts, and beings. I say this humbly and with utter conviction, and send greetings. Emmy, sister in Christ.

That seems a reasonable viewpoint.

The way I, a secularist, would put it is:

We are social beings and thus obviously need to learn to live together in a society of peace, and thus do what we can to follow the golden rule - eschew overt selfishness, authoritarianism, cynicism, and/or fanaticism and promote, as best we can, the "good" such as agape love, empathy, justice, fairness, camaraderie, and basic reasonableness, settle our differences without violence or expressions of hatred, and realize our common human traits are more important than any political, social, racial, cultural, and religious differences.

The radical and fanatical sectarian view of life - i.e., the conviction that "our group is right, all others are wrong, and they need to get on board or all is lost for them." - how is that attitude part of the solution and not of the basic problem? It matters not whether such an attitude is describable as secular or religious. Right now religious fanatics have all the headlines, but secular fanaticisms are just as anti-humanistic.

I think the above should be a decent person's concern - and not whether "I" will get what "I" want in the end. Focusing so much on me, me, me, as the final and ultimate value, seems (to "me" :D ) a rather sad use of one's time.

I think God will not grant the gift of eternal life to the murderer and rapist who do not change. That means they will die and be gone forever. You might call that extreme capital punishment. My personal belief on judgment is that Christians are judged in this life and pardoned through the blood of Jesus. The non Christians are judged after physical death and the unloving are left in the grave forever, and the loving are granted acces to God by Jesus.

I have to disagree with that. One may very well believe that robbing a bank would be worthwhile, and bring an end to any suffering due to lack of money on their part. The big reason people don't do it, is fear of judgement. (getting caught)

I can back that up with scripture...

Proverbs 16:6
By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

Fear of getting into trouble that puts you in front of a judge, can be a good thing, and generally is.

Never have seen that. Every Fuddie based church I know of in town has massive outreach programs open to all, and work with the local food bank and womans shelter. Your statement is not a general rule of thumb.

People don't do the right thing, as a general rule. If you've ever stolen anything, you've done wrong against your neighbor. (as well as lies, hate, or anger directed at them. No one can, or does live by this standard, which brings me back to the original line of thinking, there should be judgement if in fact, God is real...

Interestingly enough... that can be read two ways... I like them both.

1) in the same way, or to the same extent

2) simultaneously

It also seems to contain a rather inverted form of logic, in which the harder a person notionally makes it to qualify for heaven, the more they will expect everyone to assume that they necessarily qualify to go there. Surely the exact opposite must be true?

Personally, I prefer not to draw lines, from the risk of finding when I enter eternity that the line I so carefully drew runs just above my own head.


Go out and love your neighbour. That's more useful than wondering if you're going to be judged or not.

With a large enough pair of scissors and a pot of glue, anyone can prove anything from scripture. Even that slavery is good for the slave...

I prefer unedited, for example, the verse I quoted. However, I used logic and reasoning as well. If God is good, it makes sence to me He would punish rapist and murderers. In our world, a good judge would put them away in a cell forever.


BTW, with some crafting editing, you could use a law book to prove murder is a good thing, would it make it so?

Has been pre-erased by the blood of a certain priest who shed it on a cross about 2000 years ago. Neither the Father nor the Son judge men for eternal destruction. God judges human beings with MERCY GRACE and TRUTH. Many "elder son" Christians do not like this and they "fight it tooth and nail". They say that is a "whitewash"! (It is)! And men should be punished for their sins. How did Jesus and the Father answer these positions? It is the "parable of the prodigal and his elder brother ... Luke 15:15-32. "Elder sons" may not like this BUT to SAVE ALL and take away every blemish of sin from men .... is the very reason Father sent Jesus to be His ATONING LAMB! By his shed blood the "sins of the world" have been ERASED before we were born to commit any!

"Elder sons" hate GRACE, but bemoaning and complaining about it does not alter Father's PLAN in the Son!

John 1:29. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

2 Corinthians 5:18. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19. Now learn something about another 5-letter word ... MERCY:

Zephaniah 3:14. Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem. 15. The Lord hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the Lord, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.

James 2:12. So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. 13. For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

John 5:22. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

John 8:15. Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. 16. And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me. 17. It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. 18. I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

So let "elder son" Christians and devils complain all they like! They cannot "lobby" the Supreme Judge into CHANGING HIS MIND and buying their positions! They were all STIFF ARMED a long time ago!

Isaiah 43:24. Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities. 25. I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. 26. Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

Isaiah 44:21. Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me. 22. I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

As for Jesus:

Isaiah 53:1. Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? 2. For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Those of you who want men condemned and punished must take your beef to the Lamb! Resistence is FUTILE! His death is a done deal and you can't reverse history and undo what is now accomplished! This is TODAY'S REALITY CHECK:

Romans 8:38. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 3:21. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22. Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24. Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Revelation 21:6. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

"Freely" means NO CONDEMNATION STRINGS ATTACHED!

John 3:17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Romans 8:1. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

1 John 4:14. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

All "elder son" haters of GRACE must take their protests to the Son! After all he did it! Complaining to UR pundits at message boards cannot UNDO the work Jesus has done!

Ah, yes, the whole faith vs. works question.

You see, every man will have to stand before God and face judgement. If a man has not accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour, He will face judgement for the sins He has commited. However, no man is sinless and no man can ever quite make atonement for themselves to God because God is Perfect and True. We need Jesus to be forgiven of our sins, and while our sins are forgiven, we must live good lives and avoid sin as when one accepts Jesus as His Lord and Saviour, he repents of his sins, and God empowers him with the strength to do a complete "u-turn" with his life. We do good deeds and works because we are saved, and good works is a fruit of salvation. One is not saved if he is out committing misdeeds and not following the commandments of God in Christ, as that means that He has not truly accepted Jesus as Lord.

So, in reply to your post, I believe that while Jesus is necessary for salvation, there is a need to also continue to honor His commandments and while the unsaved will face judgement, those who label themselves as saved but truly aren't will face judgement as well.

Judgement can be either good or bad. Jesus can place judgement that one is a good person, or a bad person. If you have accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour, then you have repented of your sins, and because He forgives, you will be spared of death.

But remember, that the judgement placed upon the wicked is not a stern lecture, nor is it a "slap on the hand," rather it is just as God's Word says it is, everlasting death.

No human being is among "the wicked" becuse ALL HUMAN BEINGS have the "FREE GIFT" coming to them! What is this "free gift" conferred by the Father upon them, you may ask? Here it is:

Every "prodigal son" receives the "free gift"!

Luke 15: 20. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. 21. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. 22. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: 23. And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

Revelation 19:8. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Isaiah 54:17. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

So don't try and condemn any human, it is guaranteed to backfire on your own head! Every human has a "free gift" coming to him no matter how devils abuse them while they are in this life! Every human slave shall be freed by the Son!

Luke 4:16. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. No, but it might make you a little more wary of snippets of quotes taken out of context and applied to situations that they weren't originally intended for...

Because you removed so much of scripture, and selected the parts you like, you have built your own religion based on your personal beliefs, and some created editing...


Jesus Himself was clear not everyone would be in heaven.

Luke 12:4-5 "And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!"

The Bible refers to the fate of the unsaved with such fearful words as the following:
  • "Shame and everlasting contempt" (Daniel 12:2)
  • "Everlasting punishment" (Mathew 25:46)
  • "Weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 24:51)
  • "Fire unquenchable" (Luke 3:17)
  • "Indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish" (Romans 2:8,9)
  • "Everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord" (2 Thessalonians 1:9)
  • "Eternal fire...the blackness of darkness for ever" (Jude 7,13)
So either your religion is based more your personal ideas of no accountability by creative editing, or your missing the fact one must accept the Free Gift to obtain the forgiveness first...

I reported what is TRUTH! You may charactrize it as you wish! However, the scriptures cannot be broken ... even if you disagree with them. The wisdom of man (what seems to be logical and right) is foolishness to God. "And the light shined in the darkness and those in darkness comprehended it not"! And you just proved Jesus' point!
