A federal judge will allow the Trump administration to conduct immigration enforcement raids at churches, ruling against religious groups who argue that it conflicts with their religious freedom.

Judge Dabney Friedrich of the U.S. District Court in Washington rejected a request for a preliminary injunction by more than two dozen Christian and Jewish organizations, stating that only a small number of immigration actions actually occurred at or around religious sites since President Donald Trump took office in January.

The evidence presented did not demonstrate "that places of worship are being singled out as special targets," she stated in a 17-page ruling.

And yet the hypocrisy of the administration in claiming to defend Christian religious freedom, all the while refusing to recognize the ancient right to sanctuary, goes unnoticed.

I do not believe that Christians ought to be giving sanctuary to criminals. However, I think that you are implying that many, perhaps even most, of the ones being given sanctuary ain't really criminals, and I respect that point of view.

He's not honoring the sanctuary of the. Church. Conservatives have been using this stuff to lie about Democrats for years. No difference.
Why should the Church offer sanctuary to criminals or lawbreakers?

??? So you advocate that Churchs side with lawlessness?? This kind of thinking, placing the traditions of man above scripture and the mountains of lawlessness is why I quit going to church is a fleshly, and opposes the word of God

Because Joseph and Mary were immigrants looking for a safe place to raise Jesus. Many immigrants, from South and Central America are Catholics. Christians looking for a place to provide for their families.

Did Egypt, during the time of Joseph and Mary, have laws concerning the immigration of people into their nation?

Should immigrants from South America disrespect and/or disobey the legal immigration process simply because they are Catholic and Christian families?

Should the Church provide sanctuary to immigrants who have been previously arrested for violent crimes?

????? You CLEARLY DO NOT know what you are talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cencus require every jew to go to their land that was granted to them by Moses through God. Joseph and Mary BOTH were Jews living in Israel, they WERE NOT immigrants that is a BOLD FACED FALSEHOOD.

Did Jesus not say to the Pharisees Render unto Caesar that which belongs to Caesar???? Being Catholic does NOT give you permission to break the laws. If you disagree with that then you are LAWLESS and God declares that the lawless will have no part with him. In fact Jesus says to them DEPART FROM ME to the lawless

And it is the many immigrants, from South and Central America, Christians looking for a place to provide for their families who are most likely to be prayed on by gangs. It is their sons lured into gangs, their children sold drugs by gangs. And many of the immigrants are specifically fleeing gang violence. I pray that God protect the innocent.

Thats is a very interesting historical thread. Up until about 1000BC the ancient Egyptians used a burrowed Akkadian word for Semitic speaking labourers, Ha-Pi-Ru. I have argued that the one common identifier of all those who escaped Egypt in the Exodus was the Egyptian name for them i.e. Ha-Pi-Ru.

And? What does that Bible teach on how we are to treat sojourners? Do you reject God's wisdom?
Lev. 19: 33-34
When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

Immigrants commit far fewer crimes than American citizens do. Though you may not follow God's teaching on immigrants, the Church does

Who says they are violent offenders?

Should a nation be expected to have the massive amounts of resources to take care of the millions of illegal immigrants which are now living in the USA when we don't have enough resources to help out all of our own poor, or homeless, or downtrodden citizens of our own country?

Joseph and Mary took the baby Jesus to Egypt where they were immigrants.

Never said it did.

Evidently you haven't read much scripture. There are several verses dealing with how to treat immigrants.

There is a long history of Churches offering refuge for those being hunted by the law. There is no law allowing it but law enforcement has honored the Church.

That is what the Church is trying to do.
