Judge Everybody

I have no problem with people judging one another. It is a basic human response to any situation to 'size-up' those around you be it in a physical, social, or moral way.

Everyone has opinions of one another, it is only natural. The problems start, in my opinion, when people start thinking of thier personal judgements as universally true or even valid at all outside their own mind.

We disagree on much but I admire your ability to not rely on emotionalism to make your points..you are consise and usually respectful and I enjoy reading your posts.

Maybe I am just confused because I am new but I did not see an attack on minorities here. I did not see a hate message. I did see a call to discern right from wrong and good from evil and act accordingly. That is in accordance with scripture.

Thanks I always figured that if I make my point without having to rely on any slick speaking or emotional-appeals it will be all the more effective.

I'm not saying anything about YOU..I am saying that you used the lastest in gay buzzwords..calm down and be rational..btw if I did say you were gay would that be an insult to you and why?

I didn't ignore it; I'm a very slow typist. Why assume I ignored a post because I don't type as fast as others do and am still writing mine while others are posting? Thit's a fine aexample of judging a person without having the facts to do so. One reason why I'm willing to submit to God's judgement is that He knows me inside and out. He knows me better than I know myself.
For that matter, Sweetkitty, I guess you've never you've never accidentally "ignored" a post by just scrolling past it without realising it? Or skimming it, while trying to keep up, instead of taking the time to read it over carefully?
You have gone a long way to proving for me that it's not possible to take that scripture out of context and that we cannot take Jesus's warning too seriously.

It is just a reaction to many of her posts..for example i think they just closed one (cant find it) bc it was pointing out a preacher who was attacked by homosexuals, (had a little scratch on his face, guess they weren't bears) when she had just said in another, where a lesbian girl was killed due to her sexuality, that it was due to her lifestyle, and did not show remorse. there are many on here who think she wants to justify her hatred for homosexuals, by using the bible.

Funny how in conversations here, the Christians always seem to slide back to homosexuals and homosexuality, regardless of the initial topic. It's almost like they're obsessed!

Can I answer that??

If you said I was gay, it would not be taken as an insult. I would however tell you that you are mistaken.

But if you told me that I was a hypocrite that hated gays and spent most of my time on-line judging, condemning, and spewing my hatred at anyone and everyone.... then I would be insulted.

Before you can judge rightly... you must first have a clue.

Thank you, Shaman, if I may call you that? It's not just my typing that makes me a slow poster and I'm adapting as best I can.
One of Sweetkitty's threads has stopped dead right right now because she hasn't answered my post and no one else has posted there since I last did. The first time it happened, I thought I had offended her and Pmed to apologise.

Since you don't seem to mind when my posts are out of order and read them regardless, I'd like to mention that judging is hardwired into our brains. Our ancesters needed this to survive in in times that were far more dog-eat-dog than the one we enjoy now. This hardwiring still contrbutes to our survial today, for instance, enabling us to tell our can of Draino from our bottle of water.
The downside is that these mechanisms sometimes carry over into areas in which they are less than useful.
Our cognitive processes make it absolutely vital that we Christians take that scripture very seriously indeed. Even keeping it firmly in mind, we will frequently faile to live up to it for a number of complex physiological reasons.
