Peace... im not sure any more.

Joy - let everything you do show the world the Joy of the Lord. Indeed, as the scripture goes, 'The Joy of the Lord is your strength.' (Nehemiah 8:10).

We should always carry a smile, let people see the life and the love of Christ deep inside us - what witness is it to others when we walk around with a sad face all the time. Why would others want that?!

God Bless, metal.

Joy comes from fully understanding exactly what your salvation means to you. i fear that many times even christians don't really have a clear idea about the circumstances of their salvation.

i find the joy of my salvation when i think about the grace that God has given me. there is a fantastic story in 2 Samuel chapter 9 that can be used as an example of God did for all of mankind. i'll let you read it, i won't write it down.

We were crippled, and lame, and not deserving of anything that God gives us. by right, we deserve absolutely nothing from God. But because God is love he decided to have Jesus beome the ultimate sacrifice so that we, who are unworthy, filthy and disgusting, could be made clean and perfect and be allowed to come and sit with him at his table. Through Jesus we "always eat at the King's table".

how wonderful. that is how i find my joy. by basking in the love of God and remembering what he did to save my unworthy soul.

Joy and peace are fruits of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. As we mature spiritually (leaning totally on God and not on our own nor worldly understanding), He gives us more and more fruit, which we have to share. We simply have to share it for though it is indescribable and inexpressible, we are shown by Him (through His grace and mercy) this joy and peace in order to share it...to spread the Good News that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the royal law of love.

You want more fruit in your life? Ask Him, the giver of all good and perfect gifts. And ask not waivering, says the Word of the Lord! What a delightful promise we've been given in the gift of the Holy Spirit. Granted, we might have to wait on the manifestation (for during the wait, God will burn away the chaff and leave the good stuff).

Here are a couple of scriptures well worth asking God to explain, I call them my "count it ALL joy and glory" Words from the Lord, for when you can obey these directions, you grow in spirit and truth (and in fruit).

I hope these move you, they sure do me:

James 1:2-7 (KJV) 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

Romans 5:1-5 (KJV) 1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Trials and adversities lead to patience which allows us to have the kinds of experiences that develop Godly hope, because of the love of God we've been given! Count them ALL joy, because when we savor the presence of God working His purposes out in us, we grow in ways only He can direct. It's really all about Him, but our glorious reward of much fruit commences in the here and now.

Bless your desire to know more of Him! I pray that our gracious God increase the faith as well as the joy and peace of all who come here today, and I KNOW that He will, because that's what He says. There is absolutely no end to what He will do through us if we trust and obey. That's simply mind-boggling to me. He is sooo good! Now this is learning to walk in the spirit! And thank God for placing that desire (to walk in the spirit) in our hearts.

In love and peace and joy,

Hmm , Is this a loaded question ?

Consider / compare -

How does one know the thrill and serenity of skydiving without being adventurous , requesting instruction , receiving instruction and equipment , going outside , making preparations , getting on board a functional aircraft ?

I guess only in their dreams ?

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
<-----> Hebrews 10:35+36

May The Lord Be Pleased To Bless .

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off. <-----> Isaiah Chapter 55

You can't.

Christ is the real joy and the real peace. Outside of Him it does not exist. We must uncesingly pray. We must read the Bible. We must meet with other members of His Body - the Church and pray, read the Bible, fellowship and sing with them.
In this manner we can be built up into the Body of Christ and we will enjoy His joy and His peace.

Hmmm, joy and peace. I've had both in abundance lately. Peace comes from knowing and resting in God's promises, believing them, i.e. faith. If you ask Him, He will give you the peace that passes understanding. Joy comes from the same thing. I know, with absolute certainty that it is all right because I see Him walking on the water. God is my Father, He loves me, He will give me only good gifts.

Mat 7:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Mat 7:8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
Mat 7:9 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?
Mat 7:10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?
Mat 7:11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Yes, okay I know that abiding in Jesus is how, but Christians abide in Him in their walk with Him, but still don't get this peace/joy thing.

I personally think it is maybe something that just comes as you mature as a Christian. It is something that has to be inside of you, and I don't think it can come from external sources (from other Christians or anything) because its God given.

Maybe God gives it to people as they grow spiritually?

Just keep in mind also that what we ask for and what we get aren't always the same thing. Sometimes God gives us what we need and NOT what we're asking for.

We're talking about joy and peace AJK, and how to have that fruit grow in us, something we've been told by His Word to seek. In that context, I think we're in line here, don't you? God's will, and what's ok to ask for, is best discerned by examining His Word.

Hope I understood you right. And Gramma, your post is very good, thanks.
