In 1890 Charles Wilbour discovered a stone on the island of Sehel at the Nile in Egypt, telling a story of Imhotep. This stone tells a story that sounds very much like the story that Moses tells about Joseph in the Bible. Now Imhotep was a VERY famious person in Ancient Egypt. We still read a lot about him today. Some people speculate that Joseph was Imhotep even though Imhotep was said to be Egyptian with Egyptian parents. While Joseph was said to be a Hebrew son of Jacob, great grandson of Abraham the Patriarch of the Hebrew people. Imhotep was venerated as the patron of scribes, personifying wisdom and education. Imhotep was said to be a physician and was chief architect to the Egyptian pharaoh Djoser (reigned c.2630 - c.2611 BC). He was responsible for the world's first known monumental stone building, the Step Pyramid at Sakkara and he is the first architect we know by name. He had a lot of compassion for the builders that were injured during construction and he wanted to give them medical treatment and the best state of the art care back in their day.
Now I can hear the wheels turning in the minds of the revisionists. They must be saying that Moses knew the story of Imhotep and the seven years of famine and he must have attributed that story to Joseph in the Bible. The only problem is that Charles Wilbour dated the stone after Joseph and after Moses. Even though the stone itself is dated to be at least 2500 years old, it is still after the time of Joseph (around 1465 BC). So now we have evidence of a Egyptian cover up for Joseph and the Egyptians attributed the grain silos built by Joseph to Imhotep who lived many hundreds of years before Joseph. So when we turn to archaeology we see that it was indeed Moses that was telling the truth and was accurate in his story of Joseph. The revisionist living over 2500 years ago could not have been accurate because the dates of the grain silos line up with Josephs time not the time of Imhotep the chief architect to the Egyptian pharaoh Djoser.
Josephus says that the name of pharaohs’ daughter was "Thermuthis" and there was a princesses of Egypt who had a very similar name who lived during the 1565 B.C. time frame. Her name was “Ahmose-Tumerisy.”She was probably the daughter of pharaoh Seqenenre Tao and the sister of pharaoh Ahmose I. She held the title of "king’s daughter"and "king’s sister.”
Imhotep: First: architect and engineer and physician in early history
