and, from another thread:

Thank you for responding and letting me know that you agree with the doctrine that I'm asking about.

So, if I understand you correctly, then the one act, shows that they were only fooling themselves, that they were really only motivated by lust for all those years. And once that fact is exposed, it negates their entire testimonies and ministries. They can, if they truly repent, start over with a clean slate, but everything that went before was counterfeit and counts as dross. Is this right?

I have no idea what your mystery doctrine is!

Such men's ministries are indeed compromised, as they do not qualify as leaders.

Whatever they had as friendship before they would have crossed over into forbidden territory was not counterfeit. It is when they would cross the line into sexual expression that they sin against themselves, each other, those whom they lead and serve, and most importantly--God.

Now I'm confused again.

In the two posts I quoted earlier, it seemed to me that you were in agreement with the statement "Homosexuals do not love one another, they are only acting out their lusts." This statement is the doctrine I was asking about. I didn't mean for it to be a mystery.

But in the post quoted above, you seem to have backed off slightly from that position. I am sure that you have not changed your position in less than an hour, so I must have mis-understood you either before or now or both.

I hope you can help me clear up my confusion.

I see!

Well, I used to be of the mind that homosexuals only suffer with lust. I do think that is the majority of the cases we see. However, there is a component of homosexuals that really do have a "type" of love--it is misplaced and unlawful, but it is a counterfeit. However also, it does wreak havoc on the soul of the person who suffers the loss of their "mate". It's just tragic and so unnecessary that these people cannot find the true identity in Christ and discover God's best for their lives.
