  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

A mother brought her little boy to a candy store. The store was filled with jars of all kinds of candy. The owner, being a good friend of the mother, wanted to give the little boy some candy. "Sonny, you can pick any jar you like, open the lid, and grab as much candy as you like," he said. The boy just stood with his hands behind his back and didn't say anything. Seeing how timid her son was, she gave him permission to go ahead and grab any candy that he likes. But still, the little just stood there.

So, the owner went ahead and opened a jar, grabbed some candy, and the boy gladly opened his two hands to receive the candy from the owner. After the mother & the little had left the store, it bothered her a little bit. "Son, why did you not take the candy even though the owner & I gave you the permission to do so, but you waited until the owner grabbed the candy for you?" she asked. "Because he had bigger hands!" he answered.

Just to show you this isn't about greediness, a friend of mine learned a lesson from this story. He said that currently he's looking for someone to teach him and guide him while studying the word of God; sort of like a personal mentor or teacher. After hearing this story, he's really convinced that he needs to do that because from the story, if you have a personal mentor guiding you through the word of God, you would learn so much more than learning it by yourself.

Isn't that the truth!  Why settle for less when we know we can have so much more...apply that story to life!

Jesus placed His hands in the Candy Jar for us and handed us all the candy we could want in the world and all we had to do was just grab it from Him.

What a blessing it is to serve a Master such as Jesus!
