Wow my bad, it looked so real.

What field are you going to be going for?

I'm a chameleon. I have a psych degree with a physics and engineering background, and like to do mechanical things and push paper.

I'm hoping for NFO, perhaps navigation, but I'm probably going to end up in matinence administration somewhere.

I hope I'll get to talk about it soon, they've been "reviewing your application today" for a month and a half now. Can't get the guy to call me back.

PS: you can always tell by the white. It's really difficult to get bright white to tattoo properly, if it looks that vibrant, it's 99.9% probably not real.

 I enlisted in the Air Force a long time ago and stayed in five years. I was stationed at the Air Force Academy (not a cadet) and then in special operations. If I had been an officer, I would have made it a career. Just to be honest, I did not like being enlisted.

There are several ways to become an officer. You can pay for college all by yourself and join. YOu can join ROTC and get some scholarship money through ROTC when you are in college. Check on the scholarships before you begin, though, because ROTC has changed a lot over the years.

Another way is to apply to an Academy (USAF, Navy, Army, etc.). Your high school grades have to be way up there, and you have to have strong math skills and strong physical agility.

I know that the Air Force now has really good living conditions for its enlisted men and women. I paid out of my own pocket to live off base when I was in. The last couple of years, I received money for quarters but I was really broke by then!:help:

Everyone has different needs, and I am not sure what your goals are or why you want to join. I wish you the best!

Hmmm not an expert on tattoos here obviously :D

Product of my sordid youth. ;)

Good luck, will pray for you and hope that you will get what you want soon...

Thank you.

It's a good thing though I guess, I need a little time to get in shape, having been stuck to textbooks for most of my life. Hard to run and read a textbook.. I know, I've tried.

HS grades need to be above a 3.5, but the key is extracurricular activities. You need to have several diverse items, including excelling at some sport, to get a nod for the academies. Or, if your family knows someone, that helps too. The President has X number of nominees he can make, as do your Senators and Congressmen. I met someone recently whose son had a Presidential nomination, and he said "all you have to do is ask", but I know the kid must have been pretty good. :)
