My favourite resource is John Piper's DesiringGod page. Are there many Piper fans here?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I consider john Piper my pastor...as I am unable to go to church in person...I feel the Lord has given me a great treasure in this man and his ministry.

I'm a Piper fan (if you couldn't tell by my forum name), he is definitely gifted by God and I love how he ties reformed theology into life application, rather than either just one without the other.

Though I have three of his books I haven't been able to get very far in any of them. I simply don't care for his writing style. I also disagree with the idea of " Christian Hedonism." I do not think our purpose is to enjoy God as he develops the idea but to glorify God. The concept of Hedonism is to live for pleasure and he applies that concept to faith. I believe that while it is pleasurable to gloify God it isn"t an end in itself.

This is actually one aspect of the title that worries me. I think I need to further read his position so I can develop a clear idea of his ideas.
