  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Because I predicted it?>>>>LOL

I give you another prediction. Even though Obama is winning in the polls Hillary is gonna get the demoncrat nomination too.

And we both know who will win in a Hillary vs McCain run. I was thinking even about betting on Hillary to win it all. Sportsbook.com is giving 3 to 1 odds on Hillary. I could triple my money in less than 9 months.

Or a sure bet is to buy a 50 cal. Because whether anti-gun H.Clinton or anti-gun Obama or anti-gun McCain wins, the ability to own a 50 cal without a license probably wont outlast their term. Then they will at least triple in price.

I think if the race is close the Illuminati will put McCain in place.

If it is a landslide Hillary way then the Illuminati has her as backup.

So either way the Illumianti gets what they want.:sigh:

I think in november we'll see how age-ist this country is. If mccain loses it will be obvious to everyone that the country still hates old people. Or maybe 'nam vets. It could be that the country still wants to spit on vietnam vets, if he loses.

For sure it won't be his policies, it will be because the country is still full of hate.

Presidents apparently need to be good liars. It beginning to look like McCain is a really bad one. Either that or there is a conspiracy against him, consisting of his ex-campaign workers and his ex-lobbyist buddies.

I hate to see a good thread die.

Aren't there any McCain supporters out there who are willing to explain to us "liberals" how we are just misjudging him, how he has always just tried to do the right thing, and that all the apparent lines of evidence converging to show that he is a liar - that all of that is just being misconstrued or misunderstood or misinterpreted in some way?

I mean, please explain to me how Sen. McCain is really a honest, upstanding citizen. I'm all ears (like Obama). :D

Can anyone tell me why and how John McCain became front runner? He was super low in the polls for several months. He raised very little money. He had virtually no grassroots support. Between the Iowa caucus and the NH primaries, he did not cure cancer or say anything super inspiring in any debate. He was slammed hard by Ron Paul for his lack of knowledge on the economy. What made him a nobody to a front runner in less than 1 month?
chiefly because he had less baggage than the other republicans:

1) Fred Thompson, had been running a lackluster and unenthusiastic campaign for months, when critized by the media for just that, caugh on camera explanining ( i'm paraphrasing ) "I don't particularly feel like running for president". Stick a fork in him.

2) Huckabee. Goes on into a debate saying he's the only one on stage with a theology degree. He doesn't have a theology degree. Also caught lying about how he raised taxes in arkansas.

3) Romney. Basically a social liberal who changed all of his positions within the last 2 years. Flip flopped on abortion, gay marriage, immigration, etc, and is now campaigning as a red meat republican despite having a very liberal record on everything. Is a mormon, and something like 25% of voters say they'd never vote for a mormon, and 63% of voters say they'd never vote for romney in a poll ( the highest of any of the candidates this season ). Also he's made of plastic.

4) Rudy Giuliani. Pro-Choice, twice divorced, his own kids are not on speaking relations with him, one of which is supporting barack obama. Caught using government money to fund his extramarital affair, with a security detail for his mistress. When asked about the expenses by investigators, said it was security related. Also was a complete idiot to only campagin in florida and ignored the earlier primaries.

5) McCain. Hasn't run a particularly inspiring campaign but easily beats all 4 of the above idiots.

But McCain was one of the Keating Five.

Sounds like a Star Chamber to me. :D

Put the words "McCain flip flops" in the youtube seach and you will get links to eight videos:

John McCain Flip Flops on Gay Marriage

McCain Flip-Flops On Tax Cuts

McCain Flip-Flops On Ethanol

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CZLTFvMM_E

John McCain Flip Flops on the Confederate Flag

John McCain Flip Flops on the Religious Right

McCain Flip Flops on Abortion

McCain Flip-Flops on Everything

It would seem that Obama is pretty much set to counter any smears from the Repubs in November. Let them defend a 71 year old man who, though having been an adult for 50 years - half a century - still can't get his right brain and his left brain to agree on hardly anything. :D

Limbaugh Urges Republicans to Vote for Hillary
Thursday, February 28, 2008 9:25 AM

Rush Limbaugh is urging Republicans to cross party lines this Tuesday in primaries in Ohio and Texas and vote for Hillary Clinton.

Limbaugh said on his show yesterday that he wants to see Hillary and Barack Obama continue battling, noting that the battle will end if Hillary is vanquished and Obama can focus completely on presumptive GOP nominee John McCain.

“Remember what this is, this is about us winning. You have to understand, it's not about Hillary winning; It's about us winning. It's about our party winning. It's about those people losing. They've got some problems in the Democratic Party. It's not all sweetness and light over there. If Hillary loses this thing, all of that's going to come to a screeching halt. We want all the disruption in that party as possible. It's about us winning.”

GOD Love Rush Limbaugh. He is a living SAINT.

Those who say Rush Limbaugh is a raving right wing lunatic who can not put down, for one whole day, either his bottle of Oxycontin OR his bottle of Viagra - well, I think such people should back up a step and look at the whole picture of who Rush Limbaugh really is.

There are websites for this. Shall I list some?

John McCain for president 2008

This is the McCain for president 2008 thread. This is where you talk about McCain's campaign and why you will or will not vote for him. Posts about him surging in the polls go here. Posts about his gaffs go here. Threads about something he is currently doing, like as governor, that are not about the campaign do not go here.

Staff is concerned that these threads, even more than other political threads, will become spamming, trolling, baiting and flaming festivals.
Prove us wrong, keep the topic about our next president.

We have started threads for as many candidates as we thought of. If you support someone without a thread, first look back several pages to see if there was one that dropped down the page, then pm staff to start one.

Threads which are considered campaining will be copied into these main threads and the members who created the threads will be notified by PM that their thread was moved. Please save us the trouble and just do it here first.

Remember to link to articles because you can not quote more than 20%. Remember that reposting the same thing in order to hammer your point home or bump the thread is considered spam.

Thank you!
Not a fan of your candidate, but I have to say, this nonsense over his citizenship is pure idiocy!

The man's father and grandfather were both 4 star admirals in the service to their country!

Exactly. And John McCain is a war hero, completely different from the history of Bush, Jr. As Obama says, McCain should be honored for his service to his country.

John McCain should be enjoying his golden years now, on a beach in Hawaii or whereever. He has sacrificed enough. He is retirement age. All good things eventually come to an end. McCain should retire, and have all loyal Americans' greatful thanks for his pass service to his nation.

McCain is a great guy. I would love to have him as a neighbor. I would love to have a beer with him.

As president in 2008? No.

You sure are trying hard to cover up your hatred for old people. All of these issues you have with his stances and philosophies aren't fooling anyone. If McCain loses, it will be because enough Americans hate old people.

I thought a lot of Americans WERE old people. All the young people HATE their parents - all of them? - and all the young people and their parents HATE the grandparents?

And you know this because......a little birdie told you?

I'm actually only doing it because I radically oppose the idea of universal health care. I doubt he'd be a much better president than Bush.

As I understand it what Clinton and Obama both propose is not universal health care in the sense of Canadian or Swedish socialized medicine. They are talking about forcing a reduced rate for insurance premiums and co-pays, etc., and giving subsidies for the poor. Everyone will still be purchasing insurance from private insurance companies.

This is my understand. Am I wrong?
