In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Tis a great song. Unfortunatly I dont feel that Heavier things was any where near as good as Room for Squares. Daughters is a great song, and there are a few others, but as a whole, he didnt seem to grow any from his first album. Which was dissapointing to me.
I still love his music. He has a great voice, and he is a super cutie!

john is amazing. i loved both albums, i cant wait until his new one.. what has been your favorite song that he has done so far?! and has anyone seen him live?! my personal favorite song is probably either daughters (because the song basically sounds like my entire life) or city love! i havent seen him live, but i would defiently love to!

i love john mayers...he is fab! room 4 squares is a brill album...by the way is no13 on it *no consta* meant to last 4 only 6 secs coz mine is copied nad i just wondered if it was a blip(lol luv that word...) in the copying...?? i agree *forever_faithful7 seeing him live wud be fantastic!!

.....Now, I have never seen him live, but his sound isn't all that great. Am i right in assuming that he writes/composes his own songs? If so, I would say he is talented in making a really good pop song. But I wish he would change it up a bit.
Candice hit on that a bit in her post, He didn't really grow from the first album.

you don't like his sound? i agree with candice. his first album was pretty good, and it had so many good songs. Heavier things is good too, but i don't feel like it's any different... it just has less songs on it. If you're going to make your new cd like your last one, then you might as well put a good 15 songs on it. But i think heavier things has like 10.twosteppin said:

john mayer is a really good guitarist. i have a tape of him at austin city limits, and he can really pull out some nice bluesy solos. the faces he makes are interesting though.
i think it would be a nice show, especially acoustic. But i don't think his live show would have the energy of similar artists out there today.

I definitely think that Room for Squares was a much better album.
My absolute favorite song is 3x5 ...I love everything about it, the mood, the lyrics, the guitar
And also Great Indoors is an excellent song. It's just a cool song ...and I love the drums in this song.
