you don't like his sound? i agree with candice. his first album was pretty good, and it had so many good songs. Heavier things is good too, but i don't feel like it's any different... it just has less songs on it. If you're going to make your new cd like your last one, then you might as well put a good 15 songs on it. But i think heavier things has like 10.

(i'm watching this trippy show on TLC about these "freerunner" people. it's pretty interesting)

john mayer is a really good guitarist. i have a tape of him at austin city limits, and he can really pull out some nice bluesy solos. the faces he makes are interesting though.

i think it would be a nice show, especially acoustic. But i don't think his live show would have the energy of similar artists out there today.

You are right Bryce, I think he has the potential to be a great artist. I mean, he proved himself with Room for Squares. I would love to see him try something acoustic or a little more bluesie. I have a live concert of his... and there just seems to be something missing.
Maybe because he dosent seem like a big stadium type performer. I donno there just wasnt the energy.

It will be interresting to see if he puts out another album....

Tis a great song. Unfortunatly I dont feel that Heavier things was any where near as good as Room for Squares. Daughters is a great song, and there are a few others, but as a whole, he didnt seem to grow any from his first album. Which was dissapointing to me.

I still love his music. He has a great voice, and he is a super cutie!

I agree 110%, Sign! I thought I was the only one who wasn't blown away by "Heavier Things"...I'm glad to know I'm not alone! However, I still think John Mayer is AMAZING and he is AWESOME in concert...I would recommend his concert to anyone, because he is an EXCELLENT PERFORMER!!!

John has got the BEST sense of humor out there - and he's soo not worried about what other people think (watch him when he sings and you'll see what I mean -- that was a compliment by the way). I'v recently added him to my 'dream team' of singers ... DMB, JT, JJ, Croce -- wouldn't it be great to see all of them together on one stage?! Talk about fun!

He's definitely more of a smaller venues performer. One of the music channels here in Australia has a live concert series like VH1 Storytellers called the Max Sessions. Mayer did one last year in front of a smaller crowd and it was very very good, and the crowd interaction was great to view! And most of it was acoustic too. However I'm not sure if I could get hold of a copy of it, but Candice, if a selection of Sessions came out on DVD it'd be something you would love (Jack Johnson and Sarah McLachlan have been on it in the past)
