  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

i think if u read the preceding, jesus gives the description of the another, something he was keeping from them as they were not ready for the full truth and becuase whilst he was with them, it was not needed for him to tell them yet...

however, i believe that jesus is saying that he has told them all that so they will not be afraid once he departs becuase another will come to help them again, another human prophet to guide them... and the part about overcuoming the world must be taken in context to the times, he was to be persecuted so to have overcome this, it would mean that he escaped this...

this is seem in the apocolpyse of peter amongst others to be the case... its not found in the NT tho...

Try the NIV translation, quoted below:

"I have told you these things, so that in me you have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world."

You are close - but not another human prophet - the Holy Spirit is to which Jesus referred.
