The problem with Joel Olsteen:
Can learning successful tips for marriage and business help you get into heaven? I think Joel mentions "Jesus Christ" TWICE during most sermons.
He never mentions "sin" -- that would drive away people. So you'll never hear it. It's bad for business to tell people that in addition to "feeling good" and learning the tips for how to get that promotion, they also need to turn from sin.
Okay -- I admit I have heard him QUICKLY mention the word sin under his breath -- but it's RARE!
VERY rare! I know there are some true Christians at his church, but they are the people who already know how one gets saved. The average person, who is returning to church for the first time, would continue to be unsaved if they just relied on his sermons (maybe his Bible studies are okay -- I don't know).
Also, fFor anyone who is openly living with/in sin (gay, alcoholism, adultry), and attends his church, they'll only learn about how to "feel good" despite their sin, you'll hear next to nothing about turning from sin, and asking Jesus Christ into your life as your personal savior.
I guess these attendees will not be saved, but will have great success in the businesses and relationships.
Add Steve Munsey and Paula White to the list of problem preachers too!
