I think it's just the norm, like, everybody does it, so just go along with the norm. And then if you don't, you're looked at weird. Most people think it's harmless...but I don't really like the idea of it personally. I know for a fact I wouldn't do Santa with my kids unless it was in the manner where they know Santa's not real. I don't think I could in good conscience lead my kid to believe something is real, that isn't, if that makes sense. And I know a lot of people compare it to fairy tales, how kids believe fairy tales are real, and I suppose that's true lol but then I was raised without them as well. But fairy tales to me, the kid might believe they're real but it's up to me what I teach them so I can teach them that they are fun stories and you can dream and have fun, without teaching them that it's truth. But that's me. And it is an opinion that I am MUCH in the minority and I know that. I get a lot of flame for it usually if I speak it but lately I don't really care what people think of my opinion
I'm not saying everyone has to believe that...that's just ME and my beliefs
