That would suck!! I forgot to take my rash vest and forgot to put sunscreen on my back so i spent 3 painful days of having to go without a bra.

Ouch! I once got burned twice on the same day. The first time I had lines from my tank top during the parade, then I went out on the river and ended up burning again and had new lines from my swimsuit lines.

Said a prayer for your boyfriend BB. Hope he finds a job. I know how he feels that I'm unemployed and live in a small town where options are limited.

That's part of his motivation for moving here. His town had like 3 businesses, so anywhere he would have worked would have been a commute. After he totaled his car, he lost his transportation.

Right now we are working on an application and I had to pull his teeth to get him to call his references and ask for e-mail addresses for it. I told him that if he didn't call them, we would have to scrap the whole application and he would have to restart it all by himself.

Ouch. And I know what its like not to have a car. When I lived up in the Blue Mountains with my parents, public transported SUCKED big time.
I live in Western Sydney now and the transport is better except for Sunday when the buses aren't as regular but the trains are pretty good.

Hi folk, there is currently a cricked competition on in this neck of the woods so the big city nearby is in '..sports mode..'. For US folk think in terms of baseball crazyness.... :holy::clap::thumbsup:

Any way, as folk know Susie and I are returning to the USA.
We are trying to sort out a budget but costs are so different I am getting lost.... we will be in Washington State Seattle way.

Can some folk who live in the colder north or high up (in mountains needing heating) please help with an idea of
1- Basic electricity bill that includes heating. We have found exact cost per unit in each locality so given an idea from someone, and location can adjust this to suit specific areas.

2- FOOD - Our costs in NZ are so different. What is a basic cost for two folk after grocery shopping for a week or month? Examples from folk will be good enough. All I know is that poor old Susie goes '...you pay this much .....you bunch of ....' LOL

(* PS - I like normal food not junk food.... haha..... Susie was a bit intrigued with our huge vege area within the supermarkets. Are fresh veges not the done thing???)

3- How much do folk spend on a car. Here in NZ gas is over $8 a gallon so again I have little idea what to expect.

Things like insurance and phone we can find on the web.

Any help like this would be Sooo appreciated. THANK YOU.

Your electricity in the winter, depending on the size of house in the states, could run about $200 to $250 monthly. I know some who live up north, and it's higher, but that I'd say is a ballpark amount.

Gas here is hovering around $2 per gallon...a little less or higher in some areas.

I'd say groceries could run about $300 monthly, for two people? I'm single, but I'm thinking of my mom and dad...and that's about right, I'd say.

This sounds like quite an adventure, I'll keep you in my prayers.

Choice.... thanks for the data..

So what would folk spend a month on a car? A ball park figure would be neat.
Yuck .... I had better learn to drive on the other side of the road.

Haha.... I found this vehicle US road code test on the internet. I passed and Susie failed. but do not tell her I said so..... LOL
